Another question
So after boople eats she gets into her water dish like its a hot tub. Never seen or heard of this. Normal? It's always immediately after she eats only.

Re: Another question

no. One on the hot side, one on the cool side. Water dish is in the middle, back of her habitat.

heat sources are on each side of the habitat. None directly over the water. Her uth is on the hot side.

Hmm I had a snake do this but after I put a hide its not doing it anymore.
Does it drink while inside?

Sometimes but not usually. She literally lounges in it. Not like a whole body soak. Her Bach half is out sometimes, sometimes her body is in with her top half lounging out. It's really cute. She looks like she is in a hot tub after she gets too warm. And all her temps are normal in the habitat.

Does your snake regularly use the hides? Are they identical?
There may be a reason she feels more secure in the water bowl than those hides, they like surprisingly tight areas if allowed them.
Also, I've heard they do this if the prey item is a little on the large size, for whatever reason. Possible cause?

She likes her cool side more. Not identical. And she only uses her hot tub directly after eating. Weird boople snoop. I feed rat pups.

The non-identical hides MAY be the issue, BPs generally pick faves then will ignore the non-favored hides for the others. Changing the hides out for a matching pair may end this behavior, assuming both are suitably sized. Is their hot hide used? She may be choosing to bask in the water bowl for heat digestion because she doesn't like the existing hot hide.
Or it may just simply be digestion/preference.

One is small now since she has grown so she will hide next to the hide on the hot side. I have multiple areas to hide out. She likes the cool side. She will actually know down the cork flat so it on her and she burrows lol. I think she just is unique. I have a lounging, burrowing BP! Lol
