What are good breeding wieghts?

So I'm wondering what weights should my male and female be before breeding? I know I have awhile before the season hits but I'd like to know sooner so I can make sure I'm on track.

750 + male (500 minimum)
1600 + female (1300 Minimum)
I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend minimum weights but it is possible at those weights, and it has to be a healthy snake, nice and plump

What I learned, it's about age and body condition. Females should be at least 2.5~3 years old to breed well.

If you breed a big female that is too young but put on weight fast, there's a higher chance of her producing a bunch of slugs. While if you breed a 5 year old female who is only 1300g, but had a steady growth rate and is healthy, she has a good chance of produce healthy clutch..

Overweight snakes also have a higher chance of producing slugs and other health risks, so it's not worth just measuring their weight.

My female is about 6 years old and last I checked was about 1900 grams. My male I haven't checked yet but I believe he's near 300 grams I'll check after his next bm.

You're going to have to wait until he gets a little bigger, but that won't take long. Sounds like your girl is more than ready.

There is a lot more than weight to take in consideration, weight, age, body condition / proportion.

For example while I would not breed a 1200 grams female that is 2 years old, I would have no issue breeding a 4 year old female at the same weight.

I would also not breed a 16 months old female that is 1500 grams.

Finally it is possible to have a female that is 2000 grams 4 years of age but that is not right to be paired.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'd like to see my girl gain about 100 to 200 grams before breeding season. She's health looking for her length and size but I know that she likes to fast late fall and thru winter.

Just to mention..... There is no "breeding season".
Many of us do it year round.

I know, I just would rather do my breeding in the fall due to not having air-conditioning. I'd rather not have to worry about heat spikes while attempting to incubate eggs.

You are in no control of when they go. I am lucky so far and all my girls are in about a three month window of each other. Being concerned about temp spikes is wise though. Most people have to heat the incubator. A lot of the time I have to cool mine.

I get that I can't make things happen my way, but my male won't be ready until then. So it will happen when it happens.
