LOL, yeah...I have a hard time remembering when Bastian was that small. Atreyu was full grown when I got him.
Moon is a whopping 19 inches, and 88 grams!

Re: New baby
Can't Wait to see some new pictures!I wish my BP would go back to being that small.

Re: New baby
Real cutie! Does show post here too?

Re: New baby
She's a cutie. It looks weird when I pull out Issa's first hide and put him next to it now. (His hide has been reused, and is now being used by Vash (the pastel)).
Still haven't quite settled on a name for the normal female. She's a bit shyer than the others. (If I would remember to weigh them before I feed them, it would be great, but I keep forgetting to :P)
I'm also looking forward to when I can pull out all three of them for a size comparison shot.

Re: New baby
Awww what a pretty baby! Love the close-up pic!
Hey Schlyne, how about Modesta (latin) or Tiombe (african) for your shy lil normal female...they both mean shy or a shy, modest person.

Re: New baby
I ran a poll a long time ago and Issa was supposed to be Nyoka (which is african for something...i've since forgotten) if it was a girl. Well, I just started calling it issa anyway and refused to change the name. Issa has since been probed and is male.
I dunno. I'm still trying to get a better hold on her personality. Some of might be that she hasn't been worked with enough. I have to get more pictures of Vash. She's been testing her enclosure trying to get out, and she's been climbing up the theromstat cord to do it. It's so cute. Now if only my rack would get here.... I should get a head shot of Vash as well. Being a jungle pastel, she's got some weird head coloration/marking.
Apologies to Sass for thread hijacking....

Ah no problem. I'm probably guilty of it myself. ;)
And speaking of trying to escape, Lil Miss Moon did that herself a lil while ago. But she did more than try...she succeeded!! Luckily I found her less than 2 feet from her cage. Little stinker.

Re: New baby
Oh Miss Moon figured she could go off on a big adventure did she? LOL Very glad you found her so quickly.

Re: New baby
What size mouse are you planing on feeding it? I got a BP of the same size a week ago, and I'm not sure whether I should keep feeding it fuzzies like they did at the store or something larger like a hopper.
-
Re: New baby
I'll go up to the shop and find something that I think will be the right size for her. Just going to depend on what they have.
-
Re: New baby
She's a real beuty.
I just got a girl BP for the St. Louis rep show also.
She's settling in well, no name yet, though.
I'm leaving her alone for awhile, so she doesn't get to freaked out over the new digs.

Re: New baby
Cute little girl you have there. Keep these first pic you get of her; in later-on years, it is fun to compare their "baby pictures" with your adult-sized snake!

Re: New baby
Cutie! I love them when they're that small... I have a female about that size and she's taking adult mice, one a week.

Re: New baby
Sorry to have to say that MoonChild passed away last week. Not sure why. :(

Re: New baby
I'm so sorry for your loss!

Re: New baby
That's sad to hear.
Sometimes these things just happen with no outward symptoms.
I hope this doesn't discourage you in any way.
I'm getting a little concerned about my girl.
I wonder if I got my from the same breeder you got yours?

Re: New baby
Nah, not discourged in the least. I've got 2 other BP's, one of which I raised from a little noodle snake. I'm thinking she either had a neurological disorder, or possibly IBD. I doubt IBD, since David (of www.DTReptiles.com) has some very high end snakes, and I think he'd know if he had IBD running unchecked through his collection. I've emailed back and forth with David, and he's going to replace her.
Did you go to the show in August on the 14th? And is that who you got your little girl from? He had a bunch of Cinnamons, and Spiders. PM me if you want.
