    Lord Salisbury Snake progression thread!
After weeks of waiting for the weather to be warm enough for him to be delivered, my snake son has finally come home to me!

And he's more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!

Welcome home, Lord Salisbury! (Sal for short)

He was hatched in 2016, not sure when exactly, but he's 432g as of this morning.

I will be posting plenty of pictures as Sal continues to grow and share a home with me.

Where did you get your decorations? I'm having a hard time finding good ones, and Sal is gorgeous [emoji7]

Thank you!!! I got most of them from Amazon. Exo-terra fake plants, Marina Decor mangrove thing. The gray rock hide and the log in the middle (which is hollow) I found at PetSmart.

Haha, thanks!!! :P A close second that I was considering was "Smores", but when I finally got a real good look at him in person, I decided he needed a more dignified name!

One more picture for the night (taken through the tank glass so as not to disturb him while he's settling in). I can't get enough of this snake. I love him so much already.

He sure is!!! More so than I ever could have imagined from the pictures I'd got from the breeder. The colors and pattern and the white patches are so striking in person!

So, Salisbury here was only using his hide on the cool side, and I had a different hide on each side so I thought I should get another one of the hides I keep on his cool side to put on the hot side as well. I remember reading somewhere that you should have the same hide on both sides, that way if he feels more secure in one he won't have to sacrifice temperature needs for security. I picked up another branch thingy for him to climb on too, since I had seen him enjoying the one that I already had in there!

Here he is, surveying his domain from atop his branches...

Man, leaving this guy alone for a week while he gets settled in is the hardest thing to do!

Salisbury are for the first time tonight!!!! I'm so excited and proud [emoji1]

At first he was sniffing the f/t rat but didn't seem interested, but I did manage to snap this cute picture:

I left the rat on the screen on top of his tank, and figured when he started getting more active as night fell, I would try again. And lo and behold, he struck!

I'm so proud of my boy for eating for the first time for me [emoji1] The breeder fed him live, so this was his first f/t rat too - and I'm glad he took it without too much trouble! That bodes well!
