I don't know the species of snake involved. The case "happened" in India. As far as I know this sounds like a complete BS story. I cant even think of how this would be possible. You don't just get the ability to envenomate when you are bitten by a venomous animal.

Probably the wife was treated for her gaping wound, and not for the venom, but the article failed to bring up that point... LOL

So if you bite the animal and you die, its poisonous.
If the animal bites you and you die, its venomous.

If the animal bites you and you bite someone else and they die, what was the animal?
