First clutch!

    First clutch!
The clutch has landed! 6 "perfect" eggs. Im actually not too sure because I could only candle two of the eggs because I'm going the maternal incubation route. They looked fine but I'm not trying to disturb her too much. There was also one roll out that i snuck back into her pile. The roll put didnt seem to have veins except at the bottom so i do not know what that means. The eggs temp roughly 86 and humidity is averaging 99-100% thanks to the coco husk. I'm so excited for this clutch right now!

Could the one that rolled out be upside down? Watched someone candle their eggs and he said something along those lines , good luck with your first clutch! That's one beautiful momma <3<3

Grats Seven! What did you pair her to? Those eggs look huge. Can't wait for the progression. :) I think one possibility with the veins is that the one side may have very small vein structure that could easily be missed by candling. As long as it's not a yellow or green hue inside the egg then go for it. Even so, incubate until proven otherwise or obvious.

I'm actually not sure. I cant check anymore because I snuck it back in.

I paired her to a toffino. I tried and candle another egg but it showed up just yellow but the bottom looked like it had some veins. She is a PB so I'll see what happens in a few days. The temps and humidity are perfect still which is great. Just another 60 days to wait q-q.

Sweet. Keep us updated on how it goes. I'd like to try maternal incubation myself.

Update on the eggs, all eggs are fertile and averaging temps of 84-88F. Humidity is fine, not really measuring it to
be honest but all the eggs are doing fine. I do have one problem where the roll out keeps rolling out of the nest when the female goes to get water. It never dies or goes bad whenever it rolls out so it's more annoying if anything.

I'm very interested to see how that roll out does! I have read that someone took some eggs and rotated them around and they were fine and that the whole 'eggs must never move' thing with reptiles is over blown. If that egg hatches you'll have some strong evidence in that direction as well. good luck!!

Okay so another update. I've given up on putting the roll out back into the coils because it comes out like every 2 hours. It temps around 84-88 and it is actually doing surprisingly well on the side of the snake directly on the heat. The veins are still strong too. I do have to figure out an incubator situation for this particular egg it seems though.

Awesome job! I guess you ended up going with material incubation? Did you have any problems?

To be honest not as much as I thought I did. I worried about so many things but the eggs were fine. Like i checked tempa vitrtually every day as well as add water to the substrate. I also candled like every two days to see if anything died but they always had veins. I think one egg got wet somehow during incubation but it went to term and is doing alive and well right now. The mother also abandoned the clutch after we cut the eggs (which we know we arent supposed to do with maternal but we were excited) so the eggs are now in a really really quicj incubator set up.

Another thing that is lf interest is that the mother did not eat during the 60 days. We tried offering but she didn't want but she ate two small asfs last night after the eggs were taken away and her tub cleaned so she's on the road to recovery. I'm giving her the year off for sure.

That one is as gorgeous as I thought it'd be, looks almost like albino lucy pied, but that clear white head is so unique.
