Perfect Prey - First order
I received my first order from Perfect Prey today and am very happy with the order. It was very well packaged and still frozen solid when it arrived in MA from FL. They even included a free pen!
I had a few minor casualties (2 decapitated pinkies) but the rest of the order was in awesome shape. I would have liked a few more of the LG Adult mice to be in the 25-32 gram range (only 2 out of 25) but other than that I am extremely happy and will order from them again.

Perfect Prey - First order
Overall I am happy with PP.
Yeah, sometimes I wish sizing could be different. But dealing with live critters (before they are killed) must be a hard business to balance and juggle without postponing orders and loosing business.
The way I look at it is, I'd rather have something to feed than none at all. So I'm willing to cut them some slack.

Absolutely. I was just nitpicking a bit, I'm 100% happy with my order and won't hesitate to order from them again.
P.S. your freezer is fantastic

Just placed my first order with Perfect Prey today. The product looks phenomenal and I am glad that you posted this thread. Thanks for the heads up!
Re: Perfect Prey - First order
Hi OP! I have one quick question if you don't mind! I currently have 4 BP's and a Boa. I've been looking for a good website to buy my mice from and prefect prey has been one of the major places I've heard of. So my question(s) are 1. How many snakes do you have? 2. How often do you feed them? and 3. (if you don't mind my asking) How much was the total order including shipping? Any help would be fantastic!!! :)
Re: Perfect Prey - First order
@ MBPAR- I hope you don't me chiming in on your questions directed to the OP. I had some data readily available that I could share since the subject was brought up on another thread recently. You can use it comparatively if you think it applies. The shipping charges are a standard $30 on average. I have 8 snakes, a few more than you, but the average food costs per snake might be similar. I also have carpet pythons and bull snakes that don't take food breaks like a BP might. That could bring the costs down further. I feed all my snakes every 7-14 days. This is my most recent Perfect Prey invoice from early January and I've still got about 2 months worth of feeders.
The way I see it is $273 to feed 8 snakes for 6 months is less than $6 per month per critter. You can't beat that. :)

@ Meerna- Sounds like roughly $6.25 per month/per critter. Not bad at all :).

I have 4 snakes right now which are on different feeding schedules and different size prey.
The total for the prey was $29 and shipping was $31 I believe. I ordered 50 pinkies ($10), 50 fuzzies ($14) and 25 Lg mice ($15).

My only question is, how do you (or others) separate the mice/rats? I'm worried about accidentally breaking off a limb or thawing the whole pack too much just to get a single mouse/rat and ruining the whole pack.
also how long would you say they keep in the freezer? About 6 months?
I separated them all into smaller bags to keep them fresher longer. They actually break apart really easily. I sorted the Lg mice into baggies by weight and had the entire order separated, bagged, labeled and in the freezer in about 15 minutes.

To separate you just wiggle them a little. If you just hold them for a minute or two the limbs and tails will thaw juuust enough to get the stubborn ones apart without worrying about putting the un-needed one back in the freezer (or if younneed two of that size you don't worry about separating the stubborn ones).
Re: Perfect Prey - First order
Just looked them up after seeing they are from Florida and just saw I live 10 minutes away from them! May have to buy from them from now on lol
