I hear you. He has produced a lot of firsts over the years but there is only so much of the guy I can take.

Wonder if it's any good, when Chief Michelle's made dog food I thought it be great but it was practically made of packing peanuts

Re: Herptopia?
He's definitely the "face" on youtube right now....I admit I watch his vlog on occasion when I'm at work. Midnight shift can be trying at times, that's why 99% of the time I'm posting here in the middle of my shift during down time.
I switched to Herptopia when I went to PVC enclosures from cypress mulch in the tanks. No complaints thus far - it holds humidity well - ins't dusty - if I spill when filling the water dishes it absorbs and doesn't puddle up - and there is no smell when the snakes poop or pee - I literally have to look for it now.
Yeah - his face is everywhere but that's what our world is built on - money and "star" recognition.
Zina did a comparison that helped me make the decision to try it.... https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...erptopia/page3

Re: Herptopia?
I opened the box yesterday expecting Herptopia I ordered from their website and wham, there's that face again what the? BHB'd... clearly he's talented and a smart businessmen, I just found the new branding a little obnoxious... huge covers the entire bag.
Will my next Big Cheese delivery be Brian Barczyk's rat pups? We'll see lol

Yeah, he did a whole vlog about his involvement with the company.

Smart move for both sides, diversifies his brand and gets H'topia into the mainstream. I find him a bit too commercial for my tastes, but you have to admire the effort he's putting into it. I do watch his vlogs from time to time, sometimes there is some interesting snake stuff, but often its just mundane personal stuff. In either case, i do think its unfortunate that there seems to be a small but vocal population who are convinced he's the antichrist, from what i can tell its mostly angry teen and drama queens.

I bought it based on the review here and then his tour of the plant. I was surprised to see his face on the bag so soon cause the video was only a month old showing the switch.
I find it funny that people ate upset with his branding. I think that he is a great ambassador for the reptile community. He is what Colion Noir is to the gun community. Hopefully He will get this out in bulk and to distributors.
I tried to make that stuff drop a granule of dust... Nothing. I don't have to mist to keep humidity. And a water bowl tipped a little water and it never touched the tub. It soaked up instantly and didn't spread.
Awesome stuff

Just checked out the site. Saw a review from someone who found 2 silverfish in his cages with the substrate. Anyone see a problem like this? That would unman me...and I'm a woman! :O:tears:

PLEASE forgive me, you mentioned Collion Noir and I actually had to google search to see I still don't know who he is. I own about 30 handguns and a couple dozen long guns and have never heard of him. I guess if I watched you tube vids of guns I would just as I know Brian through his you tube - I just talk with my buddy that owns the gun shop and try stuff myself.
It really brought things into perspective for me, thank you....Just like if I mentioned Malcolm Reed or Jef and smoking meats...Both guys I watch regularly but those that don't have no idea who they are LOL
Either way....I too tried the old "let's see if it's dusty" shake myself and was just as impressed as you. Have you also noticed when your snake(s) poop and pee there isn't any smell like with cypress mulch? I now have to pay closer attention as my nose doesn't tell me when they did.

I just ordered 4 bags to try it out. Based on how far these dinky bags go, I may cut it with my Reptichip. I'm pushing 60 snakes... need to make some decisions and cull the massive herd.
