Can someone recommend a good brand for me to get?
    I'm looking for the...items?
I don't know what to call them.
All the things I need for a tank.

    A heating pad, thermometer, etc.

    Are these any good..?

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B018V...rb_top?ie=UTF8

I'd also like to find a thermometer for the heating pad, so that will work, too.

That analog stick on is junk.
You need a thermostat to regulate an UTH

For thermometers everyone here essentially uses AcuRite, and for good reason because it's pretty accurate! Get one with a probe - I have one with a probe that tells me the probe's temp and the temp/humidity of the actual unit. Then you could put the probe under the substrate on the hot side and the actual unit on the cold side; it's really efficient :)
And I use a UTH from ReptileBasics, an Ultratherm I think? I don't know too much about other ones though, but I use this UTH for my new bp as well as my hermit crabs lol :P

Edit: the UTH I'm talking about is in one of the above links ^_^

It would help to know what kind of tank you have . Is it a glass fish tank or a plastic tub or a PVC cage or other?

    Yes, thermostat.
That's what I meant to say when I said I needed one for the heating pad.
    I accidentally put thermometer though.
    Thanks.

I have two ( upstairs and downstairs lol ) .

Very , very accurate and consistent in my experience - they even have a built in laser pointer.

    I switch mine to reading F rather than C , though .

For an under the tank heater, I use a Flukers heat mat https://www.amazon.com/Flukers-Repti...er+tank+heater they are only suppose to get to a 100 degrees (mine read 113 degrees after i attached it with foil tape and had airflow underneath it) so even if your thermostat fails it shouldn't get hot enough to badly burn your snake. It doesn't have an adhesive so I used aluminum foil tape to hold it on and you will need to make sure there is some air flow underneath it. Like others have said for a thermostat like the jump start https://www.amazon.com/MTPRTC-Contro...art+thermostat is a nice cheap edition one that i currently use but the herpstats http://www.spyderrobotics.com/index....=index&cPath=1 are better and more reliable thermostats and ill be upgrading to one soon. The infrared temp gun https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Lase...words=temp+gun is very accurate but see on the packaging the best range, mine for example is 12 to 16 inches. Also id recommend getting a accurite combo temperature and humidity reader https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-00611...umidity+sensor with either a probe or wireless second receiver so you can read both the hot and cold sides. Also since you have a tank if you have a screen lid most your humidity will just escape out the top you may want to look into covering the top with something there are lots of things you can use and if you search this forum you can find suggestions.

Those were two different makes from two different sellers and about 3 years apart yet you can see how accurate they are ...
Both cost under a tenner .

I was told that the expensive ones have identical ' inner workings ' which seems perfectly conceivable .

I really like products by Exo Terra. In my very limited experience, they make very good products.

Well their glass vivs / tanks are absolutely fabulous I'd agree - love the door catch system and that they're waterproof ..

I've no idea why they continue to keep a few cheap products in their line up though .Their stick on thermometers / hygrometers are pretty much useless I'd say .
