    Sometimes it sucks......
With all the changes in my life over the past year financially it sucks living from paycheck to paycheck.
Now with unexpected medical bills and insurance that isn't worth what we pay it is even worse.........

I am finding several animals that I would normally jump on but cannot afford at this time.

The good thing about it is they are genes that I do not have in my collection and really don't need. LoL

Though I do need/want a male Clown and have seen a couple that fit what I am looking for in a base recessive.

Its all good though, not in a hurry. Just venting.

Life sucks for sure. We are just about to lose our home courtesy of our landlord selling. We have had a massive financial hit seeing our income drop by around the equivalent of $1200 per month too xx

I know how you feel. I've always lived paycheck to paycheck for the most part, and I always have to save up to buy a snake. I can only get really nice ones around tax return season, since that's the only time I would have enough money at once to buy a snake that costs more than a couple hundred dollars. Honestly I'm also just bad at saving money. There are always things that come up.

I am/was bad with getting what I want when I want it hence all the credit debt.
Tattooed "Know More" on the side of my hand to remind me and make be think before I swipe. It really does help.:rofl:

Doesn't it seem like a lot of things are hitting all at once? Anyone into astrology? How long is this slump going to last?

I've been there sold off most of my collection when I found I had cancer I missed many months of work. I'm back now but now my divorce is final and she gets 1200 a month in spousal support and. Hold support with her job she now brings home more than I do.

Some sad stories above .. Hope things are getting better for everyone ..

For my part I've been lusting after a Pied Royal for years and even though we've had massive price drops in the uk I'm still nowhere near getting one - the wife seemed to think that a new kitchen was more important :(

    I'll never understand a woman's mind :)

I was truly blessed as my kids bought me a pied male for Mother's Day!!!

Then I had a payment plan on a banana male het pied anyway and managed to pic up a proven 100% het pied 2.5kg girl for under £150 so am set to go for the first time in my life xx

I'm a female and honestly I would rather work with a bunch of guys then a bunch of women any day

And I feel your pain Pit; got divorced, started over and went bankrupt all in one year. It wasn't easy but I made it; you will too:)

Well, the bright side is that if they are ball pythons or retics, they will be cheaper next year.

New to this site, no snake yet.. But someday!
Living paycheck-to-paycheck, working 20ish hours a week, while I take 15-17 credits per term in university..
I battle with an anxiety disorder that causes waves of depression..
Life does indeed suck, immensely sometimes, but gosh.. Animals are wonderful.
I have a cat who loves me so much, even when I'm stressed to my breaking point. :)

Life does suck, but critters make it suck a little less, aye?

I read a book years ago titled "Changes" written by Danielle Steele. Even though it was a love story, it chronicled the real life adaptations we have to make as we deal with this thing called " life". But know that changes are inevitable and they happen for a reason.

I'm coming from the opposite end where we're finally getting out of the hills and valleys of paycheck to paycheck. Got a teeny little pocket of savings, have built credit without going into debt, I'm able to plan for what I want and put some funds aside each paycheck until I have enough to get it. This year is buying out first new (used) car off a lot instead of from a relative and having a car payment to go along with that. Next year will be attempting to buy our current house from our landlord. I'm 30 and it feels like our lives are only just beginning.

That's really great to hear !!

I'm 60 next year and it only recently dawned on me that if I don't play my cards right - many of my snakes will be outliving me !!!

    Gulp !!!

Thank the lawd ( if there is one ) that I discovered the amazing benefits of regular ( daily ) fasting - 8 months ( and two stone ) later !!

The FXR was designed by Buell in the 80s. Its basically a big twin Sporty on steroids.

2017 really needs to bring some improvements. I cannot understand how it is that I could do more for my 13.5 year old collie when she could no longer walk without pain, or get up on her own, even with meds, or digest food properly... than I can for my own mother, who cannot see, walk, think clearly, and who needs tons of meds that barely dent her pain. Thank G-d for the escapism into a moment of serenity that handling one of my snakes brings me.
