Woah! Morph Market deal is janky
So I ordered a lithium from one of the breeders online. These are not the same specimen. Unbelievable. I'm not going to call the guy out, yet. I tried to call him and message him, but nothing yet.

    Here is the specimen's picture:

Here is what just came in:

Contact the Seller and see if they may have just had multiple orders going out and you received the wrong animal. If it is a reputable breeder, they should make it right.

Who was the breeder? I Kknow some tend to just have pictures of the combo but send another specimen of the same combo.

Hmmm. How do I edit my first post? I guess I can't. The breeder ended up taking care of the issue. He said he made a mistake in uploading the picture. He offered a full refund and allowed me to keep the snake. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

There's a time limit for editing posts. I don't know what that exact window is but it's pretty short, so you can only edit your post within the first 5-10 minute after you've posted. The option is usually at the bottom right corner of your post.

as for the seller, keep persisting on trying to contact him on both phone and email or the messaging system on morph market or Facebook if he has an account. Anywhere your seller is using or available. Good luck!

Well im glad he was quick to make things right with you. Sounds like an honest mistake. Kinda sucks you didn't get the snake you wanted bc those colors were gorgeous ( but the one you have is still a cutie). As for how you feel about it, give yourself some time to digest what's happened and take your time on a decision. You don't have to know how you feel right away and that's perfectly ok.

sorry you had this mix up.

I don't feel well in keeping a snake and receiving full refund. There is nothing right about that.

Hm, how would you like to proceed from here? Or what would make you feel more comfortable with the situation?

At this point, I'm not even sure. I went back through my communications with the seller and remembered that he sent me photos when I requested them. The photos that he sent were more similar to the one placed in the ad, but it wasn't the same one from the ad nor was it the same one he sent me. Strange. See? Three different snakes.

Weird! The seller has nothing to gain and money to lose from giving you a full refund... Make sure you quarantine lol.

I have no ideas, but just curious, how come you didn't call him out the first time he sent you that picture of a different snake from the ad?

I think I was about to walk into a law school exam, took a quick glance, and saw that the side spots were missing and took it as the same.

Well, the seller refunded my money, but I couldn't bring myself to keep the money and the snake. We worked out a deal where I paid for the snake, and he ate the shipping cost. At least he was one of the better guys to deal with despite the inconsistencies. All in all, I had my lesson learned in not paying enough attention. I think I would have been perfectly happy to receive the snake in the follow up picture. Oh well.

In a business where reputation is EVERYTHING, it's always better to over-compensate if you make a mistake, rather than under-compensate. No one wants to be ripped apart on the BOI or FBI.

You are absolutely correct, but it still isn't right for me to take advantage of an honest mistake. I'm just glad he was willing to remedy the issue.

This is very strange. I'm wondering if this is due to either inexperience or disorganization? Or both? A mix up this bad is making me suspect if you're not the only one this has happened to. Either way it seems they understand they've messed up royal, and as Toothless ladywhipple02 pointed out, made an effort to over compensate as an apology.

Do you know their history and if they had any reviews prior?

I went and looked through his personal facebook page, but he's a relatively small operation. He seemed to check out as far as being a decent person goes. As a breeder, he doesn't have much of a reputation, but the money that I had going into this was low risk, so I didn't mind giving the smaller guys a shot. I try to trust people, and for the most part, it has always worked out. It's when they break my trust, even at a small dollar amount, that I get angry. It's not a money thing really. He has a nice, small collection for sale on MM.

Call me naive if you will, but I don't have a problem buying from a breeder without a reputation. It's when they have a bad reputation that I steer away. Before going into law, I was an entrepreneur- a successful one to boot, but I wouldn't have seen any success if no one gave me a chance. I posted on here, because I was in a bit of a shock and was just making sure I wasn't going crazy. For a minute there, my mind was trying to reconcile the two snakes to be the same.

That first picture looks more like a crystal and what you got was an actual lithium so really you got what you paid for but the seller being so unorganized to not notice after your first inquiry is a red flag. Glad you guys were able to work it out.

I'm glad it worked out ok for you. I gotta say, you taking the moral high ground is pretty admirable. You don't see enough of that in today's world. I think the majority would have been happy with the "free" snake.
You, however, helped to restore my faith in humanity today. So, thanks for that :gj:

Based on the info given, I think I'd do business with both of you, seller and buyer.

Mistakes happen, but its how you fix them that matters !!!

⬆⬆⬆ This. Anyone can make a mistake. Going the extra mile to make amends for it is the difference between making a good name for yourself or a bad one.

Well, all is well. He's not quite the snake I was hoping for, but he's grown on me. He even pooped in his box before I could get him onto some substrate, so now he smells wretched. lol. Well, I'm going to ride out to repticon tomorrow to see what I can find. Here's to hoping I find a female clown for a good price. :please:

Glad everything worked out. It's important to be able to identify the morphs you work with because unfortunately people don't always know what they're selling. If the buyer doesn't know either than there is a good chance you will over pay for genes that aren't there. Seasoned breeders stay away from these adds and people that are miss identifying animals but a lot of people think they're just getting a good deal and trust the breeder knows the genetics in the animals for sale. Do your homework on genes you'd like to work with and you can avoid mistakes made by inexperienced breeders. The first pic is a banana lesser, second pic is a banana cinnamon lesser and the animal you received is a cinnamon lesser. Glad your happy with the snake though now all you need to do is add banana if you'd like to have the other two snakes in the pictures.
