Herpstat 6 finally here and wow it's huge.
Well I finally broke down and ordered the Herpstat 6. Was delivered today and I got it all set up and boy this thing is monsterous. Here are a couple pics of it next to a Herpstat 2 Redline to give you a size comparison.

Holy mackerel! That thing is enormous! Congrats dude
The tracking info on my new redline said it's out for delivery today but nothing at my door by 5pm. If it's not here with the mail tomorrow I guess I'll have to fight with USPS... ugh...

Thanks. That sucks about the USPS. I'm kind of lucky that our USPS up here is pretty good. And yeah, its huge. The mailman knocked on my door and handed me the box and I was like wow this box is a lot larger than the other Herpstat boxes. Figured it was just all the probes but nope, its a huge unit lol.

Just got an update on mine. Says "delivered, to agent"... and I've still got no package. I'd call and argue but it's past 5pm so I still wouldn't get it today and the wait time on the phone is like an hour and a half. If it's not here with the mail by noon tomorrow I'm raising hell haha

HOLY COW! :O Man, I don't actually need one rn, but boy do I ever want one.

I'd call right away personally, they delivered it somewhere if they scanned it that. Demand they look up the gps and see where it was actually scanned.
-
Wow that sucker is huge and kind of ugly blue imo. I was bummed they came out with that after I bought all my 4s though.
-
Omg I don't even have my snake(s) yet and I want one. Want now!

I would definitely call. In the 5 I've ordered directly from Spyder Robotics, I've never had a 'left with agent' by the USPS. The one today said 'delivered, left with individual' and all the past ones just said 'delivered' as they fit in my mailbox. I'd be concerned with who this 'agent' is? Maybe your neighbor?

I like the look of it. I like the little touch of the snake making the 6 and all the critters on the right side lol. If they would have made this in Redline, I would have been on it the day it came out lol. I was waiting hoping they would but then I saw the Herpstat 4 has been out forever and its still not offered in a Redline so I figured they probably aren't going to offer the Herpstat 6 in a redline either. So I ended up saying screw it and bit the bullet. Now I got a Herpstat 2 Redline, Herpstat 1 Redline, Herpstat 2, Herpstat 1 and now the Herpstat 6. Think I'll probably sell my Herpstat 2 and 1 normals use the cash to get Luna her T8. Then all I'll have left to get are the 4 T25s.
And just sell the Herpstat 4s and get the Herpstat 6 but since you don't like the 6 anyways, no point lol. If they come out with a Herpstat 6 Redline though, I'm going to be bent cause I'll have to have one of those so it will come down to do I sell the Herpstat 6 normal and get the Redline version or just keep it and buy a Redline version too and then just get more snakes to fill up the Herpstat slots :P

Sorry to hijack your thread. Called usps... after an HOUR AND A HALF ON HOLD, I talked to someone that gave me a case number and said if I don't have the package or hear from them in 1-3 business days then to call back. Worthless waste of my whole night when I could have been napping before my shift. I have a strong suspicion that it never left the post office and only said out for delivery after it had been scanned for sorting after ten minutes. I think it automatically updates to put for delivery after the sorting scan after 10 minutes

Nah. I'm keeping my Herpstat Redline 2 and 1 for backups. And I would rather do local sales personally so I don't have to deal with what JM is going through right now lol.

If it's scanned in office that morning yes it will get scanned out for delivery also (and should have gone), but it should be either delivered, attempted or undeliverable and it should never be scanned delivered unless it actually is. If you called the help number though it will send a customer case to your office in the morning and they have 3 days to resolve it. Hopefully it was just mis scanned and not misdelivered somewhere. Left w/ agent isn't even an option we are supposed to use so that's curious in itself.

That blows. Well today mine showed it was scanned at my local post office but didn't show an 'out on delivery' update. I called my post office and the gal checked into it and apparently the guy who does all the scanning of incoming mail didn't get it put into the computer but it was on the truck for my route being delivered.
Just seems weird that they would say 'delivered to agent'. I mean all mine said 'accepted at facility' or 'accepted at post office'. Not an 'agent'.
Hopefully what you said is what happened. Did you opt for extra insurance? I never do but this is making me rethink that if I ever need another Herpstat. Good luck man. Hopefully it gets to you tomorrow.

Cool,
I have some audiophile grade equipment here that looks similar LOL!
You are certainly getting geared up!

There we go!! We got a postman right here!! And yeah, I've never seen 'delivered to agent' ever in all the stuff I've ordered. Its always either they left a note on my door and the computer says 'attempted' or it says 'delivered left at door' or like todays for me 'delivered left with individual' since I flung the door open when I saw my mailman and said 'MINE!!!' :D

Lol yeah it is pretty epic looking. And thanks. I'm done with heating for now!! Now I just need to focus on the T25s over the summer since Caesar seems to have grown right under my nose and Rosey is the first to get a T25 as she is my oldest and my hang out buddy :)

I wish the T-25's were 24" tall. I'd have a bunch if they were. Sadly, to get the size there I'd have to pay the T-30 price and then the delivery charge which puts me at $800 for the cage. No can do!
Anyhow, not to detract here,,,, I'm happy you have the "Big Kahuna" T-Stat!
I'm still digging on that Suri too!

Thanks. I dig Gina too. She is totally a mini version of Rosey in temperament and curiosity. I had her out yesterday and she was just sitting half stretched out on me looking around for like 30 mins lol.
And yeah the big cages are a nice chunk of change. That's why I'll probably end up ordering them one at a time and eating the shipping or maybe 2 at a time as when I talked to Ali, she said a 2nd one would be like $50 extra on shipping on top of the initial $229 shipping for the first one. And yeah a T25 with sliding glass door, shelf, lock, LED installed and flexwatt plus the shipping will run me around $770 each. So yeah.....I'll probably just end up ordering Rosey one and the stand first. Then a couple months after that, order Caesar one and then another couple months, Vicky one. And then after a few years, Gina will need one lol.

Got my 6 not too long ago and didn't know they were that big either. Love it just wish they were UL listed. Not to get too far off subject but if anyone else is interested in ordering a herpstat, Jet76 on Fauna is an authorized herpstat distributer and sells them cheaper than ordering off the Spyder robotics website with Free shipping. They also ship directly from the manufacturer

I don't have any affiliation with him just want to save fellow hobbyist some money.

Not that I don't believe you but if he was an authorized distributor, his name should come up on Spyder Robotics reseller section like Zack green and Bean Farm do. Are you sure you didn't just buy a used one from the guy? I read his BOI and didn't see anything for Herpstats, just selling beardies, corns and some other reptiles. Would explain why it was cheaper than Spyder Robotics website.
If I didn't go straight through Dion at Spyder Robotics, I would probably go through Bean Farm as I live by them and then finally Zack Green.

I actually just looked too. He has them listed and said if he doesn't have the model you want on hand he can get it shipped out quickly. On the ad it says new dealer. Just ask Dion if your still sceptical.

Ok guess I'm retarded. Where did you find this? I looked at his profile in the link and couldn't find anything to do with Herpstats. On Spyder Robotics website under resellers, it doesn't show him. And I'm not going to ask Dion about it. Not that I didn't believe Shane, was more curious where the info was from as I like to learn all I can :)
-
HAHA!! I found it. Guess Ron picked one up from the guy too and looks like it went well. Doesn't list the prices though. I'm curious as to how much cheaper he is selling them for.

Not a big difference. Like $10 below MSRP but with the free shipping as well it's not bad. Saved me about $25-$30 I guess
-
Yeah that's not bad. I'd take $30 if someone offered it to me lol.

I ordered 1 of my Herpstat 4 from Zach Green when he had his sale and my second from Jason Taylor and he was great as well - both prices were lower than MSRP with shipping. They are working very well.

LMAO - yeah that was him. I can check the price when I get home and let you know. Yeah - the 6 just has 2 additional outlets so I can imagine it's an impressive box, but so are your stacks sooooo LOL

Well it showed up today, safe and sound. I think they either missed it on the truck or it never got loaded for delivery in the first place.

Well that's good news. Weird though that it said delivered to agent. Who the heck is agent lol.
-
Re: Herpstat 6 finally here and wow it's huge.
Left w/ agent is supposed to be for items that get passed to other companies, hand offs to Fedex/UPS kind of deal which isn't used currently but communication is lacking and most carriers probably think it means left with anyone at the address. Glad it showed up anyways. It sounds to me like it got missed somehow and they scanned it delivered to cover.

Speaking of extension cords, I bought a longer (15') cord for the Herpstat power from Monoprice (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=5279) at Dion's suggestion to avoid having an extra cord to worry about.
I've heard people plug a surge protector into the Herpstat outlet then their heat panel/tape or whatever they use. My Herpstat is plugged into a GFCI outlet, and the Herpstat has built in protection, isn't that enough?
-

No idea. I've always just plugged mine into either a power strip or the wall. Been doing it for over 4 years and no problems *knock on wood* lol.

OK - remembered to look at my invoices for my Herpstat4's- I paid $325 from Zach and $315 from Jason - both prices included shipping.

LMAO - If I'd known my obsession with snake ownership would be this great I would've just jumped on it then. (looking at a sunglow from a guy in TX now too LOL) Got to start measuring the basement for an official room I guess or just move my safe and have a larger stack in my office.

Haha so true. Heck I still want a female sharp snow bci, Pucallpa Peruvian bcc and now with the Lacy Act lifted, an albino caramel burm.
