    good news:

    she laid 11 eggs

    bad news:

    10 slugs :(

pairing was bamboo YB x pastel, so hopefully that one good egg is a female with all 3 genes

That's bad, been there though a few years back, only one egg everything else were slugs and by some crazy luck the one egg contained a combo that was a 1/16 chance so maybe you'll get lucky.

Oh man, I feel for you:( That has got to be disappointing after going through the whole process and then for that to happen. Well try to stay positive and lets hope that one turns out to be the best combo you could of hoped for.

Is there any reasoning or explanation why this would happen? Like a male that didn't have good seed or something like that? Or is it just a fluke and just bad luck?

    Darn it, sorry se7ven!!

Wondering if you have suspicions on why it happened? I'm curious how old your female is?

Eleven eggs is a very large clutch! That good egg is a "diamond in the rough", for sure.

How long did you leave the male in with the female? From what I've seen I'm thinking it may take multiple locks to fertilize all of the eggs.

48 hours. I had two confirmed locks. because I was trying to make a bunch of bamboo combos, I was rotating him around a bunch of other females.

well, day 66 and it finally came out of the egg.

only 24 grams though, so i'm not 100% this little guy is going to make it. i'll do my best. i've already hit up more experienced breeders.

It can be done. You just may have to do a few things you have not done before. Good luck.

Aww what a colorful little one! I hope it does well for you!
Being small doesn't mean it won't make it.

I traded a corn to a local guy at my reptile club for this little tiny thing, she ate once for him but stopped (he had rescued her, the entire litter, from a bad situation) and this is after I had her for a bit and after a few more meals, all of 22ish grams. Just took patience and small mouse fuzzies/hoppers to start, she's doing great now and growing like a normal ball. Good luck with your little one!!
