Our new Python, Monty

Not the most original of names for sure, but it seems to suit him. Picked him up on saturday and besides a major panic with a broken glass door he looks to be settling in well.

Whats blushing? I have heard that term before I just dont know what it means.

I believe the blushing is the lightened areas. (On the black areas where it looks faded) At least I think that's right.

I believe he is is half pastel if that explains the blushing?
The genetics of bp morphs is totally unknown to me, is there a table anywhere giving the inheritance of each (dominant, recessive, co-dominant etc)? I can't seem top find one in teh FAQs.

The man in the shop showed me some very special pythons, gorgeous lemon pastel hatchlings, adult cinnamon pastel and piebald (the latter two are nearly getting into deposit on new flat territory (outside London that is!), terrifying price tags!).

This site might help you. It really is a nice site and helped me a lot to figure out at least the basics of ball python genetics.

ha ha....he has not posted the good ones yet :) .....we will have to wait until after Daytona to see what the Phantom x Phantom breeding yeilded......and the Lav. Albino Pied that he must have produced :D

Thankyou all for the links, just what I was after.
There's some beautiful snakes there but I can't help but wonder who would/could spend $25K on a snake !:)
