Hybrid BP
Here is a hybrid BP, Angolan python and sumatran short tail python. Kind of cool looking.

While cool looking, I don't believe in tampering with species like that. You can run into all sorts of issues.

Yeah that's the exact guy who posted the pic I linked on Boa Constrictor Keeper FB page.
I love the color and pattern on it but I agree, I don't think I'd like to cross breed that hardcore like that. I mean morphs is one thing but this is a whole different deal.

So did Elijah breed the anaconda boa hybrid, buy it or just find the pic somewhere?

Re: Hybrid BP
I'm sure I read of a crazy hybrid snake that was a live bearer crossed with an egg layer . Presumed that was impossible but some were saying it is possible ...

No, he just linked it from Crystal Palace Reptiles. They are the ones who produce them.

Anacondas are live bearers. They are actually from the boid family which I'm guessing is why they can cross breed. Just like the Super Angry BP hybrid which is a BP, Angolan python and Sumatran short tailed python. And same with the carpondros which are a carpet python and green tree python.

Well I'm not going to lie and I'm also not blind: that snake is jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
But yeah, can't say I'm a big fan of hyrbiding - I just don't see the benefit and it seems to cause more problems than it's worth.

What are the concerns over hybrids? Scaleless corns, for instance, are a very accepted hybrid that is now obtained through scaleless x scaleless or het scaleless pairings.
Are these other hybrids, and the theee way hybrids, defective? Or too random with their temperament, adult size... like some hybrid dog breeds? Because those snakes in the videos are beautiful.
I'm not being a jerk, I really want to know what's up with this.
Thanks

How can we understand the needs of some of these dramatic Hybrids as the Husbandry needs could be anything in the cross.... Makes for a very tricky care sheet if not impossible to figure out when somthing is wrong/illness ect...

That is one beautifu snake, Zincubus

Mr. Sully, that makes a lot of sense. What are the breeders doing about that? Are these hybrids too new, still in F1 status? Has anyone bred yet for F2, to see if the hybrid stabilizes or destabilizes? While I think the IDEA of these hybrids is very interesting, I would be concerned if it resulted in corrupted offspring. I have a problem fathoming how some people are able to ignore the suffering of living creatures to produce some THING that is damaged or in pain/distress because some person wanted to see what he'd "get."

Thank you . I saw his photo online years ago and I was instantly smitten but it took about 6 months of pestering the breeder who eventually caved in and sold him to me :)
He actually gets mixed reactions .... So many LOVE his looks but some feel the exact opposite ... some reactions are based on principle rather than looks though , of course . Maybe some hate his looks but are too nice to say ;)
Like everything in life it's about personal taste .. I love white snakes / Albinos / and bright coloured ones ( as per my collection ) but some of the new faded / ghost morphs leave me cold as they all look as though they're constant in shed mode or they've been rubbing their heads on something. lol .
