Ball pythons and burmese are the same!
Wow guys I just totally got so schooled by this chick that was telling me that ball pythons and Burms are the same animal and that apparently she knows this because hed dad bought a snake at petsmart and it grew to 9 feet!

First off Burms are illegal where I live and she claims he bought it at a petsmart here in Puerto Rico. They only sell ball pythons here mainly because its, again, laregly illegal. Second She kept saying its the same species, which I tried to explain its more like cats and tigers, same family different species, she said no its the same. And then she kept saying the laws had changed (I wish!!!) and it depended on length now. Needless to say I was annoyed and trying desperately to explain it properly but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. [emoji53]

Sorry if its a bit of a rant but I wanted to share. Its sad even some people that are pro reptiles dont know anything about them but claim to be all knowing..

    that's hilarious omg

You should tell her that they don't even look the same... Their markings and head and body structure are completely different. They only look "the same" to the untrained eye lol

If all snakes are the same does that mean all lizards are the same as well? I want a 10 foot long bearded dragon or leopard gecko.

Don't you know they grow to the size of their tanks ????

The only reason they are so small, is cause those dang reptile people keep em in those small tanks.

If ya just keep em in a big room, let them roam the house, and feed them fresh road kill, they will grow 20 feet long. They will.

Hmm... What's the most populated city in the states? New York? San Francisco? California? Las Vegas? Whatever it is they must have a lot of power plants... I wonder if someone let go of an unwanted leopard gecko in that city if a Godzilla sized creature would be created.

Those big-uns Ball Pythons are called KING Ball pythons...you know, like King Shepherds.

Not to be confused with Royal Python.

KINGS are royals, too, but they are King Royals.

Their minimum weight requirement is 22,785 gr. Their NV (nostril to vent) has to be a stretched 12 feet minimum.

    Burms, no such thing!!

Someone needs to explain this rule to my female Suri! She's 7 ft and 35lbs at 8 years old. I think she's outgrown a 4ft boaphile...I'm thinking she must be a burm/ball hybrid.. [emoji12]

There was a recent thread on here about an African Rock Python eating a 150 lb hyena! I've seen them eat an impala as well. My personal cutoff would be when I can't handle the snake on my own. Once it requires two or more people to handle it, it's too big for me. I'd LOVE to work with bigger snakes, but I'll stick to snakes I can manage on my own as far as my personal animals are concerned.

Of course, it is great with kids and pets. currently it is being housed with his play mate who is included in the same. It is a small rat named mr cuddles. Being a miniature pycondaboa he does however have a huge appetite and requires 1 cow per week which I do offer for sale on the side, but you will have to switch him to F/T since I do not deal in live animals.
