Is this a normal?
First of all thank you. I am assuming this is a Normal. But i would love confirmation so that i know for sure. I noticed some flames on her side and she looks to have a clean underbelly, so i was not sure if maybe she also might be a yellow belly.. once again, im 99% sure normal, but what are the experts thinking? Thank you

Re: Is this a normal?
It's getting so hard nowadays for us non experts !
They say if it's sold as normal it probably is .
That said I've seen a morph that looks remarkably like yours just the other day .. With that kinda different yellowish tinge ...

i know, i shouldnt purchase from petsmart...but, they had a good special running. and showed me his food chart...she is a great eater... anyways, petsmart had her listed as a fancy morph ball... close to $200.00.. I told the rep it looked like a normal and the manager gave it to me at the normal price of 29.99..so i got a good deal.. but the more i look at her, the more i wonder if she really was some kind of morph..

Re: Is this a normal?
That's a tough one... looks like something going on but at the same time looks like a light colored normal. Only way to know for sure with some is to prove out by breeding. Either way it is healthy looking and looks good!

Never heard of a Enchi... But when i look up pictures, yes, it does resemble that... closest i have seen... almost like a mix between that and a YB...
-
I'd say enchi too, doesn't look like a normal to me.
Really hard to tell tho, hopefully a breeder will chime in

That banding screams enchi to me.

I'm not seeing YB but I'm not the best at identifying morphs quite yet lol, hopefully somebody with more knowledge chimes in. Still a good deal on a nice enchi!

Re: Is this a normal?
It's just the colouration in that top - first photo thaw throwing doubts in my mind . Looks kinda different than the ' norm' but it could be the lighting or something.
-
I agree with LizardLicks. The banding and coloration is very enchi imo. Just doesn't have the head pinch, which not all do. The last photo seems darker than the others though and that's why I'm a bit uncertain.
My first inclination when I saw her was that she is an enchi.

I work with enchi and I am having problems with this one. The banding is right but the coloration is too inconsistant between the images. The enchi line I am working with is very orange, this one looks to be more of a yellow which is throwing me off. I would need to really see the eyes and especially a closer look at the belly scales. The individual scales with coloration on the belly, for lack of a better term should appear pixalted. A bunch of tiny black dots instead of a solid black. Here is a pic of a baby I hatched last season.

You can see how orange they start out. As they age, the orange on the top begins to brown out a bit. This girl is a hold back, so if anyone is interested I will take a more recent pic so that you can see the changes.

Interesting. Would like to see pictures of them. Enchis tend to have lighter colored eyes but from what I've seen they're usually more greenish than yellow.

Re: Is this a normal?
A closer picture would help... Like trisnake said, I want to say enchi but the head doesn't look right in that pic. A better pic will makes a huge difference

Re: Is this a normal?
My first thought was enchi via the banding but due to lack of typical enchi coloration if it is enchi I would have to say it was on the lower spectrum. Could be just a banded normal. Better photos in natural lighting without a flash would help to identify.
-
No flash and natural light would help a lot.
Possible low grade Enchi.
