    I miss Kashmire!!!
No, nothing happened to him, I'm just in NC visiting my parents (my dad turns 70 on Tuesday, so it was a good excuse to take a week off of work).

Boyfriend is back in GA with our fur and scale babies. He calls me and reads off the temps and humidity to me each day and checks to make sure Kashmire has not defecated in his water (but will not handle him, as I think he's a little afraid of him! LOL).

Oh, and he's taking care of the mouse that was supposed to be dinner, but by the time I get back will probably be too large and I'll have to trade him in for a smaller version. At least he'll be fat and happy for someone else's snake! LOL

    I miss my new baby!!!

OK, I'm in BP withdrawals, so I'm sure I'll be lurking around here each evening!

I stilll think that's funny!! My fiance' is the one who hates snakes in my household... Although I did get her to hold a baby western hognose, of course it was only 3"-4" long...

P.S. I hope Kashmire gets to feeling better!!

Thanks for remembering that he's been under the weather, Marcus! I can't wait to see him when I get back! I worry so much over him!

Yeah, it is kind of reversed that the woman is more into the snake than the man in the relationship, isn't it?

Hognose snakes were my first favorite snake ever (back when I was a kid and volunteered at the proverbial Nature Science Center that my mom swears she should have never sent me too, because they brainwashed me into liking snakes! LOL). I loved how they played dead when were frightened, then would resort to looking like a cobra if that didn't work. Sadly, the kingsnake got out and had my favorite hognose for dinner......

For the girls being less scared of snakes than the boys, I've definitely found this to be the case. My guy has been introduced to roughly 4 members of each sex, and while only one of the girls would actually touch him, the other 3 would at least LOOK, commenting on how cool he is. Now, when we break down the guys who've met him, 2 were fine, but the other 2 were FREAKED OUT. Like to the point they didn't even want to be in the same room as his cage. I had my guy up my sleeve one day for probably half a hour while one of the scared guys was over, and he absolutely flipped when I pulled him out to put him away. It's been amusing watching people's reactions, especially from these big, tough macho-men who are scared to death of a sweet little snake. :)

Yeah my husband still hasn't held my snakes. He'll touch them occasionally, but I really don't think he likes them. I had to really talk him into letting me have mine. People keep asking me why I let him get snakes, but when I explain they're mine i get the most freaked out looks. I think it's so funny. (I've gotten used to the freak label)

Guess Mike and I are lucky we both share this love of snakes. Now that we have two balls at least we aren't trying to remember whose turn it is to feed or hold just the one snake LOL. Now we only have to sort out the 3 older kids who want thier turn at the hemostats!

Only problem with this ladies is I have an ever-lovin hubby who now phones home from work on his breaks to enquire about how the snakes are and doesn't ask how the heck I am doing! geesh....men! LOL

I went into petco one time to get some snake stuff. When i was about to get in the line some one of the ppl in line realized what i had and let me cut but i think that was because i had like 4 things and she had like 40. Anyways i get inline and the cashier askes me if i have a bp and i told him i did as soon as we started talking out i could see the whole line slowly moving away from me it was great i didnt have my snake on me but i had a bunch of froven mice, a hide and some other things i cant remember. Still it was funny that they were all that scared over something that wasnt even there.

I'm a male and I'm going to agree. Most women I have brought home to see my "babies" have always wanted to hold them. A few didn't and one couldn't handle it (it definately weeds out the bad ones). My buddies other than two are afraid of the snakes. Most will only be in the same room if they are on the other side. I think this is funny because I will never take my snakes out around someone who is scared, so they are still in their tanks when they do this LOL.
