Aurora, Caramel Tessera
My husband and I went to the local show today (Scott Smith's All-Animal Expo, DuPage IL Co, fairgrounds). The only plan was to window-shop, particularly crested and gargoyle geckos, and pick up medium rats since Big Cheese was out.
Partway through I found a vendor with some really pretty carpets, mostly IJ. I resisted and we moved on. My husband found another vendor with a caramel tessera corn snake. She was gorgeous, and sooo mellow. He managed to resist. We found a new cage vendor.
Then we circled back to to the corn snake breeder. We failed to resist, and we picked up one of the cages. Then I went to look at the IJ carpets. Husband went back to get another cage.
So here's Aurora. She's a caramel tessera, het amel.

Just made a thread for my carpet python, next up one in the caging forum.

Aurora is a beauty. I like tesseras.
(I need to get the loom out and weave some of these lovely snake patterns)

I wanted to take my kids today. It used to be called Lee Watson's, but I might be showing my age. Congratulations beautiful snake, that's why I don't go, lol. Again beautiful animal.

If you look carefully she's got a couple interruptions in her spine stripe - the weaving shed must have gotten stuck and messed up the warp floats. [emoji4]

Sorry for her daddy!

I don’t know what it is that makes their poop so noxious, but it sure is. Henry, our long-term boarder is notorious for getting his person. Aurora and Tanis, my husband’s other female corn snake, aren’t so bad.

Yeah. Colubrid poop is terrible. Faster metabolism, poop more often, and eat mice.
Boid poop is way better (not that a love that either, especially the amount)! I think it’s a combo of metabolism being slower and rats as prey.
Not a poopatologist though. Just a layman’s observation.

Aurora is lovely!
I have a Caramel Tessera girl too, I produced her out of my very first Tessera clutch in 2015. Her name is Thrace.

Thank you. She’s a funny girl, all feisty and tail-rattly in her enclosure, nice and polite when you get her out.
