Ivories are great and you can't say that animal does not have character. Friar Tuck is definitely the right name.

Most of the time when people in the hobby are refering to BELs they are refering to them by the complex that they can be created with. In that context BEL stands for blue eyed leucistic which can be either a super or a ALS of the following genes (mojvae, lesser, phantom and a few others).

I have also seen people refer to Super Fires and other Fire complex animals this way where BEL stands for black eyed leucistic.

I have never heard the term BEL used for an Ivory which is a super yellowbelly.

Thank you. Had him out to clean poop and water dish. Im so in love with him. I just wish my husband shared it with me. It hurts every time he jumps back. I hope it will only take some time for him to warm up to Friar Tuck. My husband (Tim) is really scared to be bitten. Anyone know a way for me to help Tim get over his fear in the right way. I dont want to push him to much. To fast. He did pet his tail if I had Friar Tucks head in my Direction.

Sneak up behind Tim and have Friar Tuck bite him on the arm to show it doesn't hurt.

I'm kidding of course. I am terrified of spiders, and if somebody put one on me to get me over it, it would backfire.

My advice is to give him time. Also, acknowledge the steps he is taking. Let him know that you appreciate his efforts.

I have. It was a great effort for him even letting get a snake let along it being in our bedroom. Funny story. We when to petsmart. Mine is a very good one. They care about there animals there. I was talking to a lady about the baby fish I was going to get some for my ten gallon. Well she just happen to mentioned that they had gerbils for adoption.I kind of talked him into getting some. So I was doing some research on them. I just happen to be looking at a add on facebook page for exotic pets for sale in my state. It was a ball python for sale. I was just reading them. He came up from the off and saw me looking at it. He said ( if you want a snake you can have one ) I about fell out. But he said it had to be a baby.

Congrats on getting the clearance for a snake !!

Don't know if it's the same over there but we're surrounded by snake keepers so I only buy snakes from private breeders rather than snake stores !!

Always better choice of hatchlings colourwise , you'll get better advice and the hatchling will be healthier , just ensure it's a good feeder ...

Honestly I would just keep doing what you're doing, you keep the 'danger' end by you and he can focus on the tail, although I'm not sure if he'll appreciate that deal after being pooped on haha . Let him see you lifting him out and try to educate that you can usually read their movements, don't go above the head type of things and I'm pretty sure he'll be won around in no time :D

i second this! Brian Barczyk's attitude towards all snakes is so fun to watch; even when they're trying to strike or actually bite him he remains calm and keeps talking to the camera. here's a good video from his show AnimalBytesTV to start with! it's all about snake bites.

Took him out for a few mins. I used it to show the small member of the human family. I think he was a little scared. Husband petted him. I got to tell my husband more about him. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6bae6c32eb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...451a5b3382.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ce5799f299.jpg

He EAT. He was fired up. I sented the room ooen his tank and took one one the finger. My husbad saw and took it really well. He like baby it because of the mouse. I could not have been more proud of my husband then I was right then. That is his biggest fear is been bit. Seeing me get taged and realized that it was food base and not aggression was a huge step for him. He was not worried eather. He did leave the room but came back in to tell me that. God I love him.
