So which morphs get better with age?
We all know a lot of morphs colors get duller with age. So now I'm hearing some of the newer morphs actually improve with age. I'm still pretty new and I'm just trying to learn as much about the different morphs as possible. So in your opinion, which morphs do you think actually look better as adults?

    Desert Ghost :)

This video explains it better then I can...

The snakes shown all have good size on them, so you can see the "adult" coloration/pattern

This is an often asked question. Almost all morphs change as they age. Better is in the eye of the beholder. For example... most animals tend to darken as the get older. This works for some from my point of view. Purple passions darken as the get older. Looks better to me, better contrast. Pastels darken, looks like crap. I have one pastel that has darkened to the point she looks greyscale. I think she is cool looking. Everyone else says she is butt ugly. Highways lighten, doesn't look bad but i wished they stayed darker.

    very true !!

Beauty is definitely in the eye of the Beholder.

I think what bothers some people is that what attracted them to the hatchling in first place, does often change. Many hatchlings look like glow sticks, just amazing, but then dull out.
Its always best to try to find some adult examples before choosing.

Fire, orange dream and enchi are also commonly considered morphs that get better with age

    Hypo CG Lesser Leopard ;)

Usually morphs with OD, Fire, Desert Ghost, Hypo, YB, Vanilla will get better as they age.

I feel like Ivorys get better with age. They clean up and the "dirty" pattern pretty much goes away.

Do you have a Hypo Lesser Leopard ?

I've always liked the wild patterns on Leopards. If you have such a beauty, I'd love to see a picture :)

Deborah's last post is actually a very good example of the what looks better question. Deborah's animals are always phenomenal. I know a lot of people are going to like the older version of the example better, I on the other hand prefer the darker higher contrast younger version in the same way I like younger highways.

Ax, as usual I am jealous of your animals. Nice pattern and the contrasting eye really stands out.

Some great morphs everyone, thanks especially to those that posted vid/pictures. Orange ghost is one I've already been looking into but desert ghost is one that made this whole post worth it! I had no idea what a drastic difference it made. I can think of some combos that would be outstanding with that mixed in. Definitely going to have to invest in it. I personally like bright and if you can keep contrast as well, even better which seems to be exactly what dessert ghost does.

Feel free to add anymore that you can think of that have not been mentioned.

Deborah's leopard lesser combos are beautiful OMG

I also like banana black pastels better as adults. I love the black speckling everywhere and I happen to like the color palette they become!

Well the only downside to desert ghost I can find is, they are expensive! I desperately want to add that morph into my clown plans but it looks like it will either take a few generations of breeding starting with the single morph desert ghost or a huge upfront cost to get anything with multiple morphs:( Darn recessive morphs! lol

Yup. Pretty much hit the nail on the head with that one. I'm running two recessive projects already which is about my limit. And to add to what you said the number of hets you have to hold back takes up space.
