Do spider combos get wobble?

Hey all, so I'm super new to morphs and genetics. So sorry for the very noob questions. I was reading that spiders have a tendency of getting wobble? Does anyone know if that includes morphs that are combined with a spider? For example, would a spied ball python be likely to develop wobble? Or is that something they are born with?


Figured I'd ask so I can get an idea what to expect or watch out for since I'm considering getting a Spied or other high white pied morph.

anything with spider gene may wobble depends on the animal

yes anything spider has the possibility. my male mojo spider wobbles. He can eat on his own though so it isn't an issue. Quite sad/comical if he misses a strike he flips his head over for a few seconds just staring.

I've been looking more into wobble and it seems its severity ranges a lot. I'm glad for some spiders feeding isn't an issue. I have heard something about temperature can be affected? Do you experience any other difficulties with your spider? Besides his adorable clumsiness which I admit I wish I could see :p

All Spiders wobble the question is to what extent?
Yes, if the gene is in the mix there can be a noticeable wobble.

he has no other issues other than that, hes a normal pet rock otherwise lol. He's overhead defensive, but that has nothing to do with his morph. haha he rarely misses but next feed I'll record and see if he does it.

It doesn't effect them all thankfully ...

My Caramel Albino Spider is rock solid , calm and gentle with no hint of any kind of wobble or anything ..

I have a few spiders, some of the wobble and some don't. I have a bumble bee (pastel spider) and a Jungle Woma spider, neither one have the wobbles at all. I also have a few spider pieds and they all wobble, I think it's just the luck of the draw. Champagnes also have the wobbles. The only thing it really affects is that they can't seem to tell up from down, whatever you do don't put them in a tub of water without constant supervision or they could drown. Other than that they all feed fine and are beautiful animals. These are my spider morphs:

Spider Pied 'White Wedding' female
Spider Pied male
Pastel Spider Pied Female
Bumblebee Pastel Spider pos het pied. pos yellowbelly
Jungle Woma Spider female

All spiders have the wobble trait. It's an inherent part of the spider gene, inseparable from the pattern and color traits the gene is iconic for. Some spiders just display more extreme wobbles than others. You can have an animal with a gene express a certain trait of that gene more strongly than other traits of that gene, and likewise weaker than other traits of that gene. That is what you're seeing with the variability of spiders and how much they wobble, it's a variation within the gene on how strongly the wobble trait is expressed.

This variation between animals carrying the same genes and what traits of those genes are more strongly expressed in different individuals is the main basis for selective breeding.

Hmm I guess it really does depend on the individual snake and/or parents. And omg your caramel is gorgeous!

My killer bee has a bit of a wobble.. altho I only notice it when he seems to be out looking for food.. on the hunt. He doesnt do it any other time oddly enough.

I admit that's one of the things I was worried about, does that include their water/drinking dish?

Spider or not spider, I've seen and heard of these guys doing some pretty stupid stuff, but drowning in their own water bowl has not been one of them.
