You mean TOM BRADY? 5 time Super Bowl Champ, 4 time Super Bowl MVP?? The man who just solidified his place as the GREATEST QB EVER??? Look at his numbers, his leadership, his dedication, etc... As a proud member of Pats Nation I was sure Tom was in the GOAT conversation, but wasn't convinced and was afraid to call him the GOAT because of my biased opinion, but I'm sorry, he quieted any critics yesterday. The man is simply the GREATEST QB EVER!!

I would agree, he is the best. And as much as I dislike him, I love to watch him play. He is on a whole different level.
But what I can't get past is, why did the greatest quarterback ever have to cheat in 2016? And he will be always remembered for that unforgivable mistake.
-
Those pictures are a hoot !!! Awesome :)
-
My snakes would never go for that. lol

!!
Reinz, were you there to see him cheat?? Because I wasn't. So I'm not sure what to think, still. So it's tough to speculate. Just for arguments sake: Science has proven that balls inflate/deflate due to weather, altitude, etc... Let's not forget Pittsburgh had under deflated balls THIS YEAR!!!! That was swept under the rug by Goodell because he didn't want to play that game again.. How many teams have been caught pumping in crowd noise, etc... If Brady is guilty of deflating balls in 2016, he is not alone. And that's IF he was guilty. Teams "cheat" or "bend the rules" all the time.
Anyway, great to have some friendly "arguments" with you and the rest of the Patriot Nation haters. Sports would be a lot less fun if we couldn't talk smack and argue about this crap!!! I think the world hates the Pats more now than ever, and they must be hated even more than those pinstripe wearing pieces of garbage that call themselves the NY Yankees!!! hahahahhahahahaha!!! Go Pats!! Go Sox!! and Go Bruins!!!

oh gawd! an insufferable Pats fan and Tom Brady apologist. lol

Hahahahaha!!! I gotta say, it's easy being a Boston/NE sports fan in the last 17 years. Maybe we've become a little spoiled and jaded.
5 Super Bowl Championships
3 World Series Titles
1 Stanley Cup
1 NBA Title (just icing on the cake, I hate basketball)
But yeah, we love our sports our teams and our players (Until they are no longer good, then we turn on them in a heartbeat!!!)

I had no problem with Brady at first. Then they uncovered the texts between him and the equipment(?)guy. That sold me. Plus the NFL gives a ton of leeway and benefit of doubt in player controversy. Thus, the 4 week penalty was further proof for me.
Could I be wrong? Most definitely! Could the NFL be wrong? Sure
But like I said, I love to watch the guy play. I agree that he is the best. I can't get past this, especially for him. He is better than that.
As far as the Steelers and others, cheating is cheating. All should be held accountable. If the equipment guys don't understand basic physics that balls compress with cold environments, then it's time to replace them. Every single person within any organization represents that team, even front office help.

I completely understand. Just having some friendly debate. I agree with most of what you say, especially about all being held accountable. I honestly don't know what to believe. I do, however, believe that 4 games was too much. In a league that allows players to get out of jail and return to the field, 25% of the regular season for allegedly deflating balls seems a bit excessive to me. Run a dog fighting ring, beat a murder charge, shoot yourself in the leg in a club (with an unregistered firearm), beat your gf bloody on an elevator (with video proof), allegedly get shot in a club yet nobody saw it (then the evidence surfaces that you shot yourself accidentally) but were too drunk to know what happened, get a DUI (putting lives in danger), beat your KID!!!, I could keep going....the NFL lets you back on the field. I don't remember the exact number I read, but prior to this years NFL regular season the NFL saw its first 4 consecutive weeks without a player arrest in years!!! The NFL should be addressing that issue rather than spending BILLIONS to "prove" a player was responsible for under deflated footballs! How many homeless could have been fed and taken off the streets with that?? How many school supplies could have been bought for under funded schools nation wide?? How may people could have gotten the help they needed with the opiate/heroin crisis our country is facing?? Thousands are dying daily, that money LITERALY could have saved human lives with food, shelter or addiction help, only to name a few...
Anyway, like I said before, nice chatting with you and getting some friendly debate going...

I was going to ask you were Brady's face was tattooed on your body...until you said you liked the Bruins...so now I'll just quietly accept you as one of those weird Pats fans ;) haha

Ehh, my opinion on Brady is he is a very good QB who gets the benefit of playing in Boston. Any good sports player/team from Boston or NY tend to be pitched as "the greatest." If Brady and co played for another city, he would be called a great QB who benefited from a consistently strong OL, great Defenses, and incredible luck in squeaking out 5 SB wins by a combined victory margin of 20 points. At least 2 of his MVPs would be spread out to Defensive players.
That doesn't take away his records, but in comparison, with 1 game on the line, I'm going with Montana. He never lost a SB, never threw an INT in the SB, never fell behind 14, let alone 25 points in a SB, and has a career 129 passer rating in the SB. Who did he face and defeat? MVP QBs Ken Anderson, Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, and John Elway. It took Brady 6 tries to match what Montana did in 4. So yeah, I'm taking Joe.

DEFINITELY one of those weird Pats fans!!! Hahahahha!! I honestly am not a huge fan of Brady other than as a player. And even then, he whines too much. But he is, in my opinion, the Greatest Of All Time... dammit, was trying to add a picture, but can't figure out how to do it...

I don't know that I agree with Boston putting him in the argument. Boston and NY are huge markets and probably tougher to play in than any other. Countless players in all 4 major sports have come to Boston as great players and flopped under the pressure of a large market with crazed fans. Others have started their careers in Boston with huge expectations and didn't flourish until leaving and playing in a city with less pressure from fans and media. I think "surviving" the pressure of being the face of a Boston franchise has got to be an extremely daunting challenge in itself. Brady has embraced it and thrived on it. It takes a different kind of person to be able to handle that pressure, let alone rise above it to become an all-time great.
Let's also keep in mind, 2 ridiculous game-winning catches from 2 random NY Giants receivers (who the heck is David Tyree??) kept Brady from being 7-0 is the SB, but they lost 2 by a combined total of 7 points. So that swings both ways.
In strictly a SB setting, Montana was amazing, no doubt. Possibly the best SB QB ever. And he is definitely, 100% without a doubt an all-time great. Probably top 3 in my opinion...and just for arguments sake, Montana never engineered the greatest come back in SB history

That's because he didn't have to. He didn't get his pants pulled down and spanked in front of the whole world for the first half of the game like Brady did this year. :D
Sorry bud, you left yourself wide open on that one. :)

peyton manning (aka the greatest QB to ever touch a football) still holds the vast majority of the QB records, i.e. most TDs career, most TDs in one season, most passing yards, etc. not to mention being the only 5x league MVP.
-
Tom will close some of those gaps over the next few years, he's still got 3+ years left. He might even break a few and add some more hardware
