[help] herpstat not turning on

recently bought two Herpstat intro+, the one on my T8 is perfect, however i just tried to plug in my second one and once i changed the temp: dark. unplugged and plugged it back in: nothing. UGH. anyone deal with something like this before? seems very odd; google can't find something like it. any troubleshooting advice? if i can't find a fix i plan on contacting Spyder, but i've had such bad luck with new purchases i'd rather find a solution!

I cant stand electronic problems because basically we (consumers) cant work on or fix these things. They should of put a RESET/GFI button on these Tstats.
So your screen is Black/Blank now?
What other "New" purchases have you had back luck with? I'd like to stay clear if possible!!

I have not dealt with Herpstat yet, but the first thing I would look for would be a fuse or breaker on the unit. Also, try plugging it into a different outlet.

not electronics related: recently bought two large hides from Reptile Basics, and this is what i got:

they were stacked: top one was okay but the bottom one had a cracked corner from the obvious abuse. it's not directly Reptile Basics fault but WTH!?! absolutely unacceptable! they're sending a replacement but it's just so frustrating to go through this stuff 😬

tried three different outlets: nothing. first outlet i plugged it into was where my JumpStart 'stat is so it's not the outlet. my other one is perfect but somehow this one is unlucky. 🙁

Spyder Robotics does sell fuses for the Intro+, but I can't find any instructions on where they are or how to replace them. It could be a blown fuse.

Is there a fuse on the unit itself?

Im waiting on 2 more myself from them. I somehow clicked the wrong hides on the website and now i have 2 Extra Large 16.5"x11.5" ($28) that I cant use... I ordered 2 more now (mediums) $19 friday. Now thinking of how i can turn the X Larges upside down and mount them as high basking perchs on my bigger T12 hahaha.
As far as the Tstat I dont have a clue. I have the Herp2. Hope its a fuse. Call first thing and maybe its a quick fix :)

I've e-mailed Dion at Spyder a couple times and found him to be really down to earth and honest. I'm sure he'll help you.

I just put together my new Herpstat 2, almost went with the intro + but the local destributor was out. I recalled it having a fuse so I looked it up. the intro + has a Resettable fuse: http://www.spyderrobotics.com/manual...tro_manual.pdf . here's a basic trouble shoot off the web site: http://www.spyderrobotics.com/index....d=10&chapter=1. here's a youtube on how to reset the fuse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUPfD3BqsI4

its most likely the fuse, chances are it was a defective one and the jump in power when you plugged it in popped it. if there is NOTHING on the screen at all it has to be a fuse or something more serious inside the unit itself. I'd email spyderrobotics, let them know what happened and I'd bet they send you a free fuse replacement to try first.

do you or anyone around you have a receptacle tester? Little device you touch outlets with to see if they have power? I'd plug the tstat in and test the receptacles on the back of it to see if they have power. If they don't theres no trouble shooting you need to get ahold of spyder lol.

Home Depot, Lowe's, or Walmart may have them. Be sure to get the 5x20mm 3.15 Amp Fast Acting Fuse.
