A helping hand
I was spot cleaning cages the other day and my son volunteered to hold the critters while I worked. Gotta love em!

Your son is adorable, and quite helpful, too! My son is 20 now, and boy do I miss when he was younger and used to hang around and help me do things. Sigh

What a great little guy your son is !!! Helping you out, and with a big smile on his face :)

Re: A helping hand
Thanks all. He is a really great kid with a strong mind and a big heart that I couldn't love more. He's an only child so our snakes and cat act are the closest things he has to siblings. :)
@ DLena- They grow up so fast don't they? I love this age though.
@ Zina- He's a little self conscious about his smile right now because Thursday is picture day and he's missing both front teeth. The 2nd one came out today. I guess the tooth fairy will be paying someone a visit. ;)

LOL. you just tell that little guy that he's more handsome without his front teeth than those other guys are with theirs (though I'm guessing most of his peers are missing a tooth or two also).

Tell him that is nothing to be self conscious about !!! Tell him its that is how you know he isn't a "little boy" anymore !! Wear the gap proudly ;)
Btw. make sure to let the tooth fairy know that a quarter isn't going very far nowadays, LOL ;)

Very cool! We need a "Kids with Snakes" thread. I have some pics but don't want to highjack your thread. I think teaching children about reptiles is a beautiful thing.

Re: A helping hand
@ Zina- I'm trying to find $5 now. This is the same kid who wanted dinosaurs, power rangers, a new tv and gold for Christmas. Really Elijah, gold? Don't we all kiddo. At least he's a saver for now. Let's hope that sticks. :)

I wanted dinosaurs and gold for Christmas too! I didn't get either, but I'm sure I will next year.

I love his confidence with the snake! It must be handy to have a helper at times too.
Looks like your son is on his way to being a rich man. :)

That's so awesome!! I love it when I see kids being educated about snakes/reptiles. You seem to have a great boy there, you should both be very proud! And I'm glad to see he's saving his bucks, gonna need him if he starts his own reptile collection!! Hahahaha!! It's nice to see some great, heartwarming threads. Too many people focus on the negativities and what's "wrong" with the world when they could simply look at posts like this and see that "life is beautiful"

That's awesome! My daughter enjoys helping me with our snakes. Especially loves feeding day lol

I agree with cletus, we should have a kids with snakes thread. I cleaned my tubs yesterday while my cousin was over and she and my son helped me by holding the snakes. Usually I'll just clean one at a time, but I got all 3 out since I had two extra sets of hands. I also taught them the difference between venomous and poisonous ^_^ My cousin is 7 and my son is 5, and now they know something a lot of adults don't even get right.

Re: A helping hand
So the tooth fairy paid my son a visit last night. He comes in my bedroom this morning and says, "Dad, the tooth fairy only left me one $5. I need three $5's to buy a new zord." That's some kind of power rangers toy. I told him he can either save up for this zord or sell more teeth. :D

Re: A helping hand
Always a good thing when each one can teach one! Especially our youth. I see the big EL in the little EL. Very nice. Thanks for sharing. :gj:

There is, or rather was a kid's thread. It probably died out a few years ago.
I'm sure someone can resurrect it considerably someone responded to a thread that was 9-10 years old last week.
Sorry, I'm not good with searches.

Re: A helping hand
What a little cutie (to both :D) ! I love seeing kids so comfortable around snakes, probably more to the fact I wasn't allowed one as a kid as they're 'dangerous and carry diseases. Needless to say the parents have been properly informed now lol.
