Mystery snake with a brown out line
I cross posted this to FB group. They say it's not a yellowbelly. If it's not a yellow belly, could someone tell me their thoughts?
It's got orange blush, a little head spot, and a brown line ? Like a pastels brown line, but in reverse? I have never seen that before. I'm apparently the queen of loving brown, bad quality snakes so... I'm not expecting much. :) I think it's a girl. Her name is Jaundice. More pics to come. Sold as a normal.

Re: Mystery snake with a brown out line
Mine was sold as a yellowbelly, and I've since has it confirmed by a few others who have seen and handled her.

Yellow bellies are very variable though. Yours looks like a het pied. I would call yours atypical, leaning toward awesome. I chose this hecate of the heavy granite. I noticed that some yb have peppered lower lowered halves of their alien heads.
Re: Mystery snake with a brown out line
Chloe, what you are not seeing in the picture you just posted is the belly, and importantly, the connection between the lateral markings and the belly itself. If you are convinced that you got a yellow belly (I am sure it was from a reputable breeder), then roll with it and why even worry about asking for advice about what you got? However, if you pair it with a definite yellow belly and never produce Ivories, sadly I would not be surprised. Why don't you go back to the breeder you got it from and genetic some paperwork confirming the genetic traits exhibited by your snake, and thus a guarantee?
The picture I posted is characteristic of the first yellow belly I purchased (for $15,000) in 2004, and every one I have owned since (including the pictured one I picked up (from a reputable breeder) for $50.

Re: Mystery snake with a brown out line
Not seeing any yellowbelly in any of the snakes pictured except for the ones Warren provided. Those are lovely examples of yb, and in no way atypical of the gene. Nor do the pictures look het pied. That has a totally different look. Obviously both yb, and het pied are variable, but there are certain traits that make a yb a yb which yours are lacking. Granted yb could look het pied to an untrained eye, but once you've seen enough, there is no mistake. Here is a het pied to help with your confusion. Unfortunately the only yb I have to contrast with it is an ivory so I could not add that comparison for you. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2017...282635dee1.jpg
