Can I use this paper bedding for my BP?
It's intended for rodents and is essentially what looks like shredded cardboard. The only thing I might feel worried about is her accidentally consuming some of it when she goes to feed but again, it's just untreated paper so... what do you think?
Re: Can I use this paper bedding for my BP?
Paper products are quite unsanitary...
I use natural substrates in my environmental enclosures, I also use reptile or terrarium carpet in my feeding and quarantine tanks. Easy to clean and sanitize...

What about the ink that leeches out of newspaper?

Lots of people use the blank newspaper. I've seen people talk about getting the end rolls of blank paper from the newspaper. I guess you can get them cheap because when they get too small you can't finish out the roll in the printing machines, but there is plenty left for substrate purposes. I like paper towel for the convenience. Better chance of seeing mites and it's easy to clean.

To each his/her own I guess...
I never had much luck with paper, although convenient, it still contains trace amounts of bleach from processing. I've actually cultivated bacterial and mold cultures, during med-school, from brand new paper towel rolls. That's my concern, personally. I never heard of putting an animal on paper unless its being potty trained. Something new to me and thanks for the info

I see a lot of people saying to use a feed box to feed them. But yet I've been told many times that it's not necessary. Opinions? Sorry I know it's a bit off topic.

It's actually better to NOT move them. Less stressful for the snake since changing enclosures can freak them out, and then you are also not having to handle them right after they eat and risk regurgitation. The argument of being more likely to get bitten by not moving them and their always thinking that they are getting food is invalid, because you are more likely to get tagged moving a hungry snake.

A paper towel is great for injuries because it keeps the wound cleaner. Good job! :-)

That's what I figured, being that they get comfortable with their enclosure, jumping them from home to home may aggravate them. At least that's what I assumed. It all makes sense though, why reach in a tank to a hungry snake to move it into an unfamiliar enclosure. Thanks for the input!
