    Bad news for me!!
So my local rodent breeder that I've been depending on for quite some time now is no longer conducting business. Which is terrible news. I realize I can buy f/t online, but a few of my snakes eat live, so what am I supposed to do?? I don't think I've ever been so worried as I am now.. I live in St Louis.

I mean I guess I have no other option but to try and convert my whole collection to f/t now.

Are there any live rodent companies that ship?

You only have 1 mom and pop pet shop in your whole area? You might have to make a drive lol. I drive about an hour to get all my gals and guy their rabbits, chickens, quails and rats. And it sucks cause I have to do it every 4 days to feed Caesar the pig lol. I too though should really suck it up and just buy a mini chest freezer and stock up online. Maybe after the holidays.

Yeah only one mom and pop shop in the St. Louis area that I'm aware of. It sucks. I'm screwed. F/t is fine. I can stock up. But half of my collection eats live and I really didn't wanna go through the process of converting yet. Frankly, I wish I could feed them all live. I hate preparing f/t.

If you are on Facebook join a reptile group for your local area and see who is selling feeders. Someone was supplying that shop - or was the shop breeding their own feeders?

The shop had an individual that was breeding them for it. And he's ceasing production now. Was just told tonight. And it's feed night! :(

And I'm already on the Facebook groups and I've already posted. Hopefully I get some feedback.

It's crazy that there aren't other options in a big city like that... Hope you find something.

See i'm opposite. I prefer feeding F/T. I just throw everything in a bucket with warm water and go do whatever else. Then come back in a couple hours and rinse them under hot water to warm them up, dry them off and feed everyone.

If the guy is going out of business, he must have some breeding stock left?
Get his number and call him.

He might have the supplies and equipment to sell too. If you can't set up at say your apt. maybe raise some at a friend's house for a bit?

    Re: Bad news for me!!
Well good news!! After some frantic searching. I found a supplier. A BIG ONE. And it's only 40 minutes from my house. They breed for all the pet stores in the metro area. Sweet! And even better. They are conducting the "show me state reptiles expo", and it's TOMORROW! .. I'm a lucky man. .. I'm so glad because the prior breeder I used almost never had the proper sized rats I needed so I'd have to go to mice. .. these people assure me that I will ALWAYS have whatever I need.

    Thanks guys! :)

Congrats. I've found that there's almost always a feeder breeder in every large city, it's just kept pretty quiet. I mean, who really wants to know there's a business with thousands of rodents in it? Other than us, of course!
