First season of white snowballs (progression thread)
Well... hopefully some white snowballs! It would be both sad and hilarious if I got a full clutch of butters, or worse. *knock on wood*
Here we are! Yukon is at ~850g now, Blissey is at ~1900g. This is a lesser butter (sold as such from the breeder) to a butter. Though I personally believe butters and lessers are the exact same thing, I'll stick to the sold names.

Yukon first came in, terrified of the female! He didn't move from the corner of her tub for hours and hours, even when she was pretty interested in checking him out. But I guess he finally got the point in the end. :P

"HEY!!!" says he.
This one distorts their relative size just a bit! LOL.
I'm going to be keeping this whole process 100% sterile on paper towel. The aspen above is after they apparently unlocked at one point while I sleeping, somebody peed and wet the whole tub, so I threw in aspen to dry it out.

Well, maybe not lol. But looking at the pic she looks like she's really thick in the middle.
But of course I just have the one pic to go off of and I could be completely wrong. Ignore me lol

lol it is still possible! But if so, it would be way sooner than most ball pythons, and she's only been locked once. She's just quite a thick girl.

Good pairing but the title had me fooled, Was looking for Snows........ LoL

Re: First season of white snowballs (progression thread)
Just a big girl or something else? Honestly, I may never know. (At least, I'll find out a month or two later LOL) I've stared at her way too much and can't tell what isn't normal anymore.

Has Blissey ovulated/shed yet? I can't wait to see Blissey with some eggs, it'll be so fitting XD
Any chance you'll name one after the other egg pokemon (exeggcute) someday? haha
-
Haha, mine are doing the same ;)
Good luck to you, here is to some Eggs soon and to lots of "whiteys" :)

Nope! Not even close. And haha yes, I was super excited to name her that originally. :D But now.. Heck.

Re: First season of white snowballs (progression thread)
Good luck! Here's to lots of BELs and no bug eyes!
-
Re: First season of white snowballs (progression thread)
Fear not Red, you are still a little ways away from the 4 to 8 month follicular maturation to ovulation time factor. Once you notice her staying on the warm side and refusing meals you can start looking for the ovulation. It rolls downhill after the ovy. :D

Thanks! Bug eyes in super lessers aren't a big deal, in my experience. My Yukon had bug eyes as a hatchling, and he "grew into them" as he got older. I'm sure nobody could tell he used to have bug eyes now haha

Ah I see, cool cool :D Can't wait til ovy.

Hm, my Bumble bee has refused to eat twice now. And that is SOOOOOOOOOO not like her. She has always had a robust appetite.
However, for the life of me, I can't feel any follicles. But then, I didn't try super hard, don't want to hurt her..
She is also mostly on the warm end now, while for a while she would be only on the cool end. She is still "getting it on" with the male though.
Oh well, I'm not stressing. Its going to happen, or not. ;)

That's the approach you want, don't stress it. There isn't much you can do about it if it doesn't happen and you might find yourself a pleasantly plump, glowing bumble bee someday.

SHE REFUSED FOOD FOR THE FIRST TIME. And I just bought 3 live rats for her, so I might have to gas them eventually if she keeps refusing.
Yay or nay. The world may never know.
-
Ah! Congrats. Good sign. As to the rats the good outweighs the bad. It's not to hard to "take care of" a few adults without gas. Just do what needs to be done and in the freezer they go.
-
Just keep being patient! :)
Locks are a great sign.
The pair that gave me my first BP clutch last year were paired and locked multiple times (TONS of times) for about 8 months before she finally had her clutch.
With time, we'll probably all get better at recognizing the signs of building to be able to better time the male introductions so they don't spend so much time 'just having fun' haha!
I continue to wish you the best of luck with them!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Don't gas them ... you now have 3 pet rats. Larry, Curly, and Moe :groinkick:bonk:

Definitely, I've actually tried snapping even little weaned rats in the past... It did not work. It was very sad. It's a lot harder than it looks! I did have to gas them.

Thanks! Gosh yeah, I've seen people pair for 8 months or so before ovulation. Hope I don't have to do that! LOL

:P Too bad, not this time... They all have very skittish and fearful personalities. :\ I actually considered keeping two the last time I bought a group of rats for my girl, who were really chill and nice rats, but my girl had to eat.
-
Urr, just updating that she ate food again last night. So I have no idea what this girl's on about! *shakes fist*
Watch when it turns out she's infertile or something LOL.
