Say hello to my adopted boy!
So this here is Aesir, I am guessing he is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old. I adopted him from a girl who didn't know much about him and kept him in tuber ware box at 71 degress. After coming home and warming up he is turning out to be the sweetest love bug. He definietly wants to check everything out though.

I tried to get more but he wouldn't sit still, haha.

I thought so too. He has funny markings. He has like four perfect figure eights, and two hook looking patterns side by side on his back, and then a marking that looks like a mustache! Haha :)

    Thank you :)

The coloration and the "key hole" pattern says almost definitely Mojave... just like my girl. :)

Good rescue. I wish people would simply do research before getting an animal. So many pets not just snakes die because of lack of research.

I made sure we researched before we got our bp for this exact reason. Before we got the bp, we rescued an adult uromastyx that was abandoned by a college student. When we picked him up, he had no enclosure, no heat anything, lamps or pads and no food. He was touch and go for a while but pulled through. Seeing how sick he was, I made damn sure I knew the basics for housing, heating and feeding before I said yes to a snake. It's sad how many people make impulse buys and end up making the animal sick or killing it. It took me a couple hours of reading and maybe an hour of talking to snake people to get enough information to keep a healthy snake. Everything beyond that, I'm learning as I go.

To the op, great rescue! There's nothing quite like the rescue feeling.

I honestly couldn't believe it when I talked to her. She said she didn't know what he ate, or whether he ate live or f/t. She hadn't fed him since she had gotten him because she couldn't get him to eat. She had no bedding or anything in the tank for him. And she tried to tell me she had him set up when I got him. I'm just glad he pulled through alright and seems healthy.
