Petsmart is selling this one at $360 as a Banana

    I'm... 99.9999% that's not just a Banana.

45% sure that is a Cinnamon banana. Which are worth more?

That looks like a regular banana. Cinnamon bananas are a lot more purple and orange and have a cinnamon pattern.

Normal banana is really vivid, isn't it?

This is a picture from BHB of a Cinnamon Banana, which looks like it (the orange-yellow at the bottom fading to yellow).

So, that being said, what makes a Banana and what makes a Cinnamon? (Edit: nevermind Seven-Thirty cleared that up after I hit reply x3 )

Well you might be 99.9999% sure but you are really 100% wrong.

Banana are very variable including individual from the same clutch, poor quality picture vs high quality picture makes a huge difference as well.

Nothing in the pattern or color say anything else than Banana.

Cinny Banana would not be cost more from a reputable breeder either they would actually cost less, just like a banana cost less from a reputable breeder as well.

So it's not just color that makes the morph, it's the pattern?

Also, my photo is exactly how the snake looked like in person, so I won't doubt it.

That being said, I was just visiting the beeps while purchasing other items. Not buying another snake from them. If I do, I'd very much like to purchase a snake from a breeder because the hard work involved was theirs and not the store.

Depends on the mutation some mutation affect pattern some mutation affect colors some do affect both, a cinny will affect the pattern and the coloration of other mutations, this shows you what the pattern of a cinny looks like https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...44629-Cinnamon and depending on what you pair it with you will find that same pattern in other combos as well.

Banana however is a mutation that affect colors.

Yeah, each morph has certain things that distinguish it, and sometimes it's more than just one thing. Like an albino might be almost exclusively the color with a normal pattern, but a cinnamon has both the odd color AND the different patterning.

The more genes in a snake, the more difficult it can be to distinguish all of the existing genes. Then you have massive variations inside of a single morph, where say a cinnamon can be vividly different in color and pattern from a normal OR it could be very close to a normal in color but the pattern might give it away. Bananas can be super bright or fairly dull... depending on the individual snake. So you could get a cinn-banana that ends up super bright or fairly dull... but the pattern should be the telltale clue.

And also, hatchlings after the first shed tend to be the most eye catching of colors... although some animals tend to begin fading/darkening immediately with every shed after that.

Here's a pic of a cinnamon and a normal next to each other.

    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...%2F2rcslqu.jpg
So it's pretty clear in this pic that the cinnamon has a redder hue than the normal, right? If you'll notice, the alien heads (patterns on their sides) are wider and more donut shaped than the normal. The banana in your picture doesn't have the donut shaped markings. Cinnamon also tends to add purple in the banana morph.

Of course there's a lot of individual variation. Some animals are lighter or darker, the colors can intensify or fade, but if you get a good example of a morph you should be able to tell most of them apart from normals.

The short answer is nope. Not a cinnamon.
