Victora and Rosey
-
Good to see that your pretty snakes turned you into a shutterbug. :)
-
Re: Victora and Rosey
They both look amazing! Grats. Their enclosures are cool too. :gj:
-
Gorgeous! Keep the pictures coming!!
That picture of Rosey enjoying the shelf in her T10(? or T12?) might have just sealed the deal for Clifford to get a shelf when we are ready for an upgrade. :)

Thanks. That's a T10 with their LEDs installed. I love the shelf and so do pretty all of my gals. Its easy to deal with too. It is removable during cleaning time so I just slide it out and wipe it down with F10 while I clean the rest of the cage too. And then just replace it back in. I'll have to get a picture of her when she is stretched out on it with just head head and tail end hanging off it lol.

Looking great.
All these years and now you have a camera, I'm fully entertained by this!!

Haha I know right.

Re: Victora and Rosey
Both are beautiful boas Sauzo. You have a very impressive and diverse collection .
-
Thanks El-Ziggy. Now if Allison tames down, i'll be set lol.
-
Re: Victora and Rosey
Awesome! Thanks for confirming the size. We have two T8s (one is currently divided) for our non-rack BPs, and we love them. Our boas are in VE175 tubs, and we go back and forth about if, when, and how to upgrade them to display cages from AP.
-
Oh man, my BP is bent that I stole her T10 with a shelf and put her in the Constrictor NW 48x23x14. She LOVED her shelf in the AP so I need to order her another AP cage as well 2 others for the dumerils and JCP. Now Dottie comes out at night and goes to back of the cage and stands up looking around back there. I swear she is looking for her shelf lol. She liked to go up on it at night and stretch out lol.
-
Re: Victora and Rosey
Now that you've got that fancy new camera, we expect pictures of Dottie's cuteness in looking for the shelf, too... :P
-
Love these shots. I was about to ask about Victoria, but then checked your "signature", b/c i couldn't believe she was "just" a normal sunglow, man those colors POP!

Thanks. This is a picture of her as baby when I got her. Gotta love the baby bug eyes on boas lol.https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...e85cf9_z_d.jpghttps://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...fd8ccb_z_d.jpg

Great looking setup! Did you install the LEDs? Do you know if they happen to affect the ambient temp at all?
I'm hoping to get an AP cage when my little guy grows up, and prefer LEDs over fluorescent lights.. My dream is to get white and blue dimming LED lighting that I can use to mimic day/night cycle.

Thanks. No I had AP install the LEDs. They route a channel in the roof and flush mount them so there is nothing hanging out. Then they run the plug through the top of the roof and route a channel in the top so the plug wire fits in there so you can stack cages on top of each other without problems. The LEDs come in either white(shown), red or blue.
And no they don't affect ambient temps. They don't give off any heat like a fluorescent.
Here's a picture of what the inside top of the cage looks like with the lights.https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...c3a3b0_z_d.jpg

Haven't taken a picture of Rosey in awhile so figured I'd throw one up. Here she is hugging her water bowl lol.

Beautiful snakes. Very impressive setups too. I cant wait to get another Boa.

That's a good pic of Rosey. :) That pose makes her look 👀 huge!

Haha this is one tired boa. Vicky after about 3 hours last night of getting her door left open so she could play around. After about 3 hours, she was done and went in the back and curled up and went to sleep haha. I'm sure she will be ready for round 2 come lights out tonight again.

Re: Victora and Rosey
You have some gorgeous critters Sauzo. I think I may have just had an epiphany after seeing your pics. I need a sunglow boa and a SD retic and I'll have the perfect collection for me. It's gonna take me another year or two to pull this caper off but it'll be worth the wait. :)

Haha thanks. Yeah I need my Pucallpa Peruvian BCC and another carpet, probably a jungle or jungle jag and then my collection will be well rounded in my eyes :)

Vicky is one ugly boa. I will be glad to take her off your hands. So that you don't have to look at her anymore .:D

I feel the same.
You poor guy with that snake.
I'm sure you feel terrible about having to keep her LOL!
Saz,,,, she's smoking hot and I'm not a morph guy!
-
Thanks guys. Been feeding her every 2 weeks but this feeding, I'm pushing it out to 3 weeks as she is looking a little chunky to me. She doesn't seem happy about it as she was supposed to eat yesterday and since she hasn't, she has been extra busy the past 3 nights. I think she is looking for food haha.

Big Rosey getting some outside time but her deciding she didn't want full outside time, she just wanted to sit at the open door and hang out lol. She is such a mellow girl. I just leave the door open and reach down and pet her head as I walk by. She just sits there lol.

Rosey looks like she has a good sized head.

Thanks. I was worried for awhile as she was kind of thick. Thought I was starting to overfeed her but then bam, she did 2 sheds and put on length and filled into her body. Hoping Vicky does it too as she is starting to look chunky to me but she hasn't shed in a couple months so I'm figuring she will do a growth spurt here soon I hope.
-
Victoria doing some relaxing lol. She spent last night hanging out with me. Tonight, she is spending quality time staring out the front of the cage.

I believe he uses Eco Earth. Could be wrong though.

Yeah, it's Eco Earth. I hated the stuff like 4 years ago lol. It's working awesome now. I used American Excelsior aspen for years and it worked good. Was work to keep humidity up though. Then I switched to ReptiChips which are really nice but for my big boas, they would bury their rumps under it and hide urates like a cat lol. Nothing quite like shoving the tip of your finger in a semi cold not quite set urate. Plus I couldn't see where my retic was pissing so made it really hard to spot clean. Then I ran out so I needed something right now so I went down to my local mom and pops pet shop and bought out their supply of Eco Earth lol. So far the stuff has been great. Easy to spot retic piss. The boas don't bury urates under the stuff so it sits on top in a neat wet pile and when they poop, the stuff like sugar coats the poop so it doesn't smear all over. The only down side is last night when cleaning out a huge turd from Rosey, I thought I got it. I found a little 'dirtclod' that I thought was just a clump of Eco Earth that stuck together because it was wet. I tried to squish it and guess what......it was a nugget of Eco Earth wrapped poo. It is a horrible feeling squishing a nugget of fresh snake poo the size of a superball :tears:
As for humidity, it holds it really good. I use all AP cages which hold humidity good to begin with and this stuff just amplifies it. I can sit at 99% pegged gauge all day long for over a week. The only downside is I have to stir the stuff usually once every few days as my snakes pack it down and I use flexwatt only so I don't want it to start growing anything. ReptiChips works good for humidity but since its bigger, I had to usually spray it down every few days with water. Plus Eco Earth is so soft. The snakes just love pushing little channels in it and laying down lol.

Every time I try and spot clean her cage, she is all over my arm and poking her nose into whatever I'm trying to clean up. Kind of like 'dad what are you doing here!!??' I spend half the time pushing her head away from me so I can clean her poo and stuff haha. She's my buddy though. Just a normal Colombian BCI but she's my 'go to' snake when I want to hang out. She loves hanging out with me.

Here's Rosey doing her ultimate lounge. She loves when I leave the door open. She will sit like this for hours upon hours lol. She' such a good girl. Can even walk up and pet her on the head and she'll just sit and flick her tongue out lol.

Vicky getting some hang out time. Her and Rosey seem to love when I leave a door open on their cages. They hang out until bored and then usually go in and curl up in a hide and sleep lol. I generally try and avoid leaving more than 1 cage door open at a time as they tend to like to play musical cages. I've caught Vicky sitting on top of Rosey's hide while Rosey sat inside her hide lol. I've also caught Caesar half inside Vicky's cage. Also have caught Dottie hanging out inside Vicky's cage. I don't mind the boas hanging out but I get worried with Caesar or Dottie hanging out with the boas. not sure if they would fight but really don't want to find out.
