Not a Normal?
This was not sold as a Normal: http://www.morphmarket.com/c/reptiles/pythons/ball-pythons/27406
Short of going thru the other 117 categories of "Sold" or contacting the seller is there any way to determine what "morph" it had been sold as? Thanks in advance!

The seller states that it's a dark import so it was sold as more of a dinker.
-
Thanks for the reply. I could be a Dinker, or a Normal, but it wasn't sold as either.
-
Some don't label them dinkers, dinker is a loose term used to label anything that the owner/seller feels is different and may be genetic. It's more like..."I think this import looks a little bit different, do you want to pay $500 to mess with it?".

Unless you call it a Dark Dark African Import and then it commands $500.

What are you asking? It looks to have been sold as a dark import, is there another piece of information you're looking for? Someone apparently thought it was pretty enough to pay $500 for and probably dink around with it.
I think it's pretty, not $500 pretty in my eyes but I'd pay more for it than a lot of normals I see.

i asked "is there any way to determine what "morph" it had been sold as?" I checked 3 MorphMarket categories: Normal, Dinker, and Black Head, to no avail, and don't have time to go thru the 100+ other categories. BTW there's no such category called "dark import."

The better question is: What makes it NOT a normal??
Also just because it is marked at $500 doesn't mean that's what they got for it.......

Mr Pit have you read my posts on this thread? If so, please indicate in which one it is where I imply that it is marked at $500 and that's what they got for it. And, I'm not interested in what makes it or doesn't make it a Normal. I was just curious as to what, of the "123 different genes and traits" offered on MorphMarket, this one had been classified as. Nothing more.
-
It wasn't sold as a known morph is what people are trying to get across. It may be a normal, it may be something genetic, it's a gamble.

This right here.......
Its a gamble in an import and nothing more.

Re: Not a Normal?
But likely it was sold as a dark normal or a dinker project bc it is dark.

Oh wait... I did: "Short of going thru the other 117 categories of "Sold" or contacting the seller is there any way to determine what "morph" it had been sold as? Thanks in advance!"

It may not have been sold as a "morph", it was just labelled as an interesting import. I think you are looking for something that doesn't exist. An "unusual" import usually doesn't fit into a known morph category. It's typically labeled as a dinker or simply as an import with unusual characteristics.

Not a Normal?
So Macropodus - has your original question been answered? It seems like your question is more related to how Morph Market works rather than this specific animal.
No "trait" was listed and sellers are apparently not required to list one. If there was a 'dinker' trait to select, I'm sure that's how this snake would have been labeled.

"Dinker" has been a relatively recent addition to the MorphMarket options for searchable traits. It's quite possible that this listing was created before that option was available, or that the seller simply chose not to use it. Either way...

I don't think there is a satisfactory answer in this case.
