    Miracle Hatchling
As many of you know, I got back into BPs last year and started breeding again. It's as much work and full of the ups and downs as I remember. This last clutch was the down part. Most of the eggs collapsed and molded pretty soon after being laid. 3 weeks or so. They were so stuck together I couldn't do much about it expect treat the mold and hope for the best. Then the hurricane hit and we lost power for 5 days. A generator is on order so let's not go down that road. I started cutting the eggs tonight to see "what I would have gotten". As expected, the molded ones were long gone. Another died I'm guessing a couple of weeks ago. This little one in the picture pulled through though. Now I have to wait for it to crawl out so I can see what I have besides the obvious. Pairing was Spider x Mojave Yellow Belly. Anyone want to play the guessing game?

I'm just thrilled to have one make it.

Congrats on pulling that one little one through! It's always heartbreaking to lose a clutch. Looks like a nice little spider.

It is, but part of the game I suppose.

Little one is out of the egg and doing great. Taking on a bit of a yellow hue so I'm hopeful it stays after it sheds.

Out of the egg! I'm hopeful that the golden tones hold out after the shed. Love the peach color on the sides too.

My only clutch laid this year died on me so I feel your pain there, beautiful little baby you've got there though. If those colors hold, I bet they will, that little one will make your future pairings that much better :D

    Spider gene
I love the spider gene. Any to think, people say they shouldn't be bred due to a defect, yet this one made it just fine.

I personally think head wobbles are cute and add to a snakes personality. As long as they eat and grow good, is it really a "defect"?

I think the head wobbles are cute as well, I wouldn't call a defect at all. More a personality quirk, gives them character

Agree. This little one's mom is a beast too. Defective snakes don't thrive like this.

To be fair I snapped this pick when she was gravid. She's not really that pudgy.
