i got tagged for the first time finally!

So i shouldn't say finally but i knew this day would come sooner or later.not by the royals but my sunglow boa, didn't hurt much at all and it was sorta like a warning bite? i reached in to clean his water bowl when i get tagged by him, happened super quick, he didn't latch on.

thought i would share.

I haven't been tagged real bad yet, just a few love bites by really small snakes that didn't even break the skin. But I did have a close call with my reticulated python who jumped out at me one day, and just tonight with one of my medium ball pythons. He about jumped out of the tub when I opened it up, almost got me in the same place you got hit! I know I'm going to get hit sooner or later... I always use feeding tongs to feed them. And when I change out the water I pull the tub completely out of the rack and if they look sketchy I rub them a bit with the snake hook to get them out of feeding mode. Sometimes they totally surprise me though...

Niiice! Lol I don't know how you people say they don't hurt. *eye roll* Even a baby ball can cause a little pain if the tooth goes in the right spot! 😝

I've had a few bites from young boas in the past , although they were Albinos and SunGlows and as I recall they were usually in shed mode and it's not always AS easy to recognise ...

I swear on my life, when I was tagged by my baby ball, I didn't even know I was tagged until I saw the blood (just a little bit of blood)! Because I thought I dodged it LOL! t was interesting and I can only assume his teeth were just so tiny and thin that it's similar to getting a couple pricks from a shot needle.

Oh boy, I am still waiting for that first bite. I'm almost hoping for it just to get it out of the way and demystify the experience (almost). Anyway, he's a beautiful boy, so I'd say totally worth the blood loss 😜

Ha! I mean, that's generally how it is, lol.. but when they knick the knuckle it stings! Teeny tiny baby ATBs hurt me... I'm just a wuss! 😂

Same here, I got tagged by an 8 foot boa and honestly it all happened so fast that I didn't notice until I saw the blood. Now when my 8 inch hognose latched on to me...that hurt!! :)

This guy is the only large snake to tag me, it HURT. It happened incredibly fast, and there's that first few seconds of like, shock. But after that it stung, and stung! It hurt so frickin bad. Lol The cold water made it hurt even more. 😝 Hit the side of my pinky finger and went across two other fingers.

Interesting ..... I've got a 7'+ Snow Boa but he's never once shown any sign of biting or anything ..... Very calm , docile .

Any idea why he bit by the way ??

Uhhhm, I was stupid? Lol He had his head laying beside the water dish, I needed to get the water dish, and for some reason I thought I would be able to move my hand over his head quickly to prevent a bite (stuuupid, lol). He was just kind of a jerk, tried to move him to a different enclosure and he was flailing around and striking at me, juuust knicked my leg and even that hurt. Lol

He's not my snake, I was doing co-op for school and it was at a reptile/feeder distributor place, I took care of the snakes.

yea them and their water dishes haha,next time ill ask if i can change his water, but nah i was very surprised because he is usually very docile so i was very surprised he did that.It was my fault though i just hope he didn't catch anything from biting me! lol j/k

I must have startled him while opening the enclosure, because hes not aggressive at all.

I took this picture recently of him next to the rat, he would get closer and closer very slowly didn't strike till the rat made a movement. pretty interesting, I normally feed my snakes frozen thawed but i was out of them and it was feeding day. Sorry for the horrible shot I suck at taking pictures.

My Quincy that looks like yours has never struck at me but I have a Female that has an Attitude and it comes out when she gets near going into her Shed. She will let you know..lol
