Womas?
Does anybody here keep them and where did you get one from? It's #1 on my list besides more balls but I'm having a hard time finding any breeders, I know the market is smaller though.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Womas?
I think you're talking about Woma pythons and not Woma ball pythons, right? I was just at the show in Bridgeton last week and saw some on display. There's another show I think on the 25th in your neck of the woods - maybe they'll have some there.

No - I think I need to take a break. I've been to the last 3 shows and every time I come home with a snake. My wife will not be happy if I come home with another one lol.

Re: Womas?
I got my baby boy from Reptile Rapture (.net), Madison, Wisconsin area (they do ship). Bred there. Nice store, nice owners, we have several snakes from them.

We got our trio from Jon's Jungle in CA. There is a great little snakes. Hardy as far as husbandry goes and are awesome eaters. The are more active and inquisitive than our ball pythons. You can find babies for sale on kingsnake.com and fauna classifieds. Looks can vary quite a bit so if you are partial to a specific look, make sure you see the parents. The babies can change a bit as they grow.

Ive seen em a couple places online, here is an add for one i saw browsing this site from Renicks Reptiles (havent searched BOI for them). I would be wary because it was posted 3 months ago so so it might not be updated and they could have sold them already. +1 for your snake choice, i just started looking into purchasing womas after wanting them for many years

I actually talked to Ben a little today! I met him at a show 2 weeks ago he's a great guy with some great animals! Somehow looking at some of his 5 gene combos I missed the womas completely!

Re: Womas?
I mean he might not even have them still since that was posted about 3 months ago. Could be worth an email, it is a pretty darn good price on the pair. If you dont i might ;)

Re: Womas?
He said he does have a few yet but won't have anymore clutches until next year. I might have to wait! Reptile room construction might be first on the list but I'll definitely have one!

You can try http://www.wreckroomsnakes.com/ also Grant and Mary produce some nice ones, they are personal friends so I vouch for them (and I don't do that with many people ;) )

Re: Womas?
Yeah i still have to do that too. Maybe ill grab one from Ben in the future too. It could be an excuse to visit st louis. Although if he comes to any kc expos that would make my life a lot easier

I will say some of the most stunning specimens I have seen are in Derek Roddy's collection. He specializes in black heads but has some beautiful womas too. I think he is planning on producing babies next season if you don't mind waiting. He is also a wealth of information in regards to the different localities and how they look different. Granted almost all of the US womas are muts at least you know what causes what specific look and what may be a mutation.

I have a 1400 gram male woma. Got him on Kingsnake.com and the guy that shipped him didn't use enough packing, got beat up on the FedEx truck and when I got him he was really beat up and the meanest darn snake I've ever seen, he scared the heck out of me for months. He even stopped eating for about six months while he healed. Now he is one of my sweetest snakes and practically begs to come out to play! After that experience I'll never have a snake on a FedEx truck again, I always have them hold it at the ship center so I can pick it up, so far I've had great luck with many snakes doing it that way.

Our three womas are very inquisitive as well. Unlike our bp's that retract to their hides at the sign of movement, the womas come out to investigate. They also seem stimulated by interaction rather than just tolerating it.

He's great. Personality-wise, he's a sweetheart. He's made a couple scared-baby strikes, but nothing worth noting - I trust him for mutual nose-boops. [emoji846] He comes out of his hide late afternoon-evening and checks out what's going on. When we take him out he cruises around investigating, but not super-fast, and doesn't seem to mind when he's caught and re-directed. I see why Womas are considered good starter snakes down under!

Funny enough I just scrolled through this post I ended up buying one from Ben who became a dear friend and is now a very very special animal to me but Wreck Room is shipping me a beautiful girl on Tuesday!!

I would suggest either Art Aviles or Jason Hood. Art is one of the best known woma guys, Jason hood has some quality animals too and just had some nice womas start hatching this past week

My woma tries to eat me every time I open the cage:(. Although I have found if I use a hook and take her outside she settles down and is very handleable, maybe the change in scenery takes her mind off food. But she is still young..I got mine from a guy who didnt want her anymore(probably cause she was trying to eat him).
