    Guess who's coming to dinner?
Here is what's in the works.

I've notched things up steadily since the first purchase (Royal) for my son.

I love my locality boa and my mixey/mutt coastal carpet.

This is the last addition and should fulfill the rest of my reptile desires.

No set delivery date yet, however at some point in the next 3 weeks I will have a 3 month old, male, SD/Dwarf Tiger 100% Het Snow (Purple Albino & Anery) Reticulated Python.

Mum is fully grown and 10' long. Pops is adult and 5' long. The well respected breeder tells me I should expect a MAX size of 7'-9'. I am prepared for 10-11' and have a few options if things end up on the overly large side. I suspect with the proper feeding procedures I'll engage in, and the percentages of SD and Dwarf I should have no issues.

Special thanks to Cody (Reptile Experts) for some behind the scenes coaching. He is a truly kind and helpful individual and an excellent resource on this board.

    HA ha!

    Thanks,

I knew you'd be first LOL!

I was going to PM you but figured I'd just announce it.

I finally got my PhotoBucket situation squared away so I can post pictures again.

Let me know if you have any tips. Got my hooks, my long tongs, my paper towel roll, my whiskey and probably some flowers for my wife!

    Thanks bud,

Hope I didn't let you down,,,, I was very close to a locality coastal or Bredli.

If everything specs out the way I want here this should be the perfect animal.

Perfect to switch for variety and an interesting addition.

@ Gio- I can't kid you, if it wasn't for those teeth I'd have a SD retic. I think they have the sweetest paint jobs of any snake. I'm still contemplating adding one. Yours is a real beauty.

    We have a bingo!

Yeah I have heard nothing but good about them. I met Kris 3 years ago at an expo and he was decent.

Based on Repilexperts' videos, I knew percentages were important and parental background as well.

If things are what they are, this guy will be perfect for me.

Neither my BC or carpet ended up as large as I wanted, but they are both awesome. I'm hoping this fella hits 8'-9' and I can set his display cage up the way I want.

I'll post more pictures when he arrives.

HUGE thanks to my wife for giving in one more time!

    His name is Wallace.

Gorgeous Retic! You're going to love it! I want a SD tiger badly. May breed my Kalatoa to a buddy's SD tiger in a couple years when she's up to size

Way to venture into the land of giants Gio.

    Thank you sir.

Giants yes, but hopefully not too giant. I love everything about this species. Some believe they are completely terrestrial with age, but I've seen amazing videos and photos of HUGE retics climbing up trees and perching. Some video footage reveals retics that are lightening fast for their size shooting up trees, even faster than the known, semi arboreal carpet pythons climb. (Love Carpets).

I have always enjoyed snakes that combine terrestrial behavior with arboreal behavior. "Semi-Arboreal". My boa and carpet are there and exhibit those behaviors quite often, my son's little royal will have a climb now and then too, but I think retics are usually overlooked when it comes to climbing and perching.

Obviously setups for giants are not always easy to make into naturalistic habitats.

I'm hoping I can provide something special for my new guy, and that he stays long and agile.

    Time will tell.

I've done the homework, I've read up on the biology and habits, I've prepared, I'm ready; but the exciting part is that it is still an unknown and unexperienced species that I'm dealing with.

This is new ground that I'm on treading on and I'm open to advice and suggestions from folks with REAL experience.

    BTW,

No breeding or anything like that. ALL of my animals are for the sole purpose personal of enjoyment, relaxation and they are of deep interest to me in regards to their biology and behaviors.

This animal along with the others will get the most stimulating environment I can reasonably offer.

Thanks to all who have responded with kind and encouraging words.
