No shed or poop in 6 weeks
Do I need to be worried that my ball python has not shed or poop after eating every week for six weeks? I'm not sure how old she was when I got her, but PetSmart said she was about a month old.
Thanks for the input.

Has she shed or pooped since you got her? Has she been eating? What's your humidity levels like?
Re: No shed or poop in 6 weeks
No need to be worried about that right now. As long as you're feeding appropriately sized meals, providing fresh water at all times, and have made sure the enclosure is set up properly, they will do their thing on their own time.
Re: No shed or poop in 6 weeks
Yes she eats every week religiously, but not one poop or shed that I can find in her cage. I keep the humidity around 70, but I also noticed her or my red tail boa I have never seen them in the water.

Sounds fine! You'll find an explosion soon. =P
You generally won't see these species in the water unless they're dehydrated/too hot or with mites.

I know you have been feeding every week but what size prey have you been feeding?

If she's young she's probably using the weekly meals to the full and not letting any go to waste and using it to grow. Once she gets ready she will shed and usually they will wait for a shed cycle to poop too. A nice double whammy [emoji4]

I just started feeding her Hopper mice last week, before that she was on to pinky mice a week, for one week, and then before that she was just on a pinky mice a week.

That's why she hasn't pooped. BPs eat hopper mice straight out of the egg no problem then move up to fuzzy rats quickly from there.
I'd definitely up the prey size to something more appropriate for her size.

Than you have your answer, even out of the egg the can take hoppers, pinkies are colubrid food, with little to no nutritional value for a BP, so what little there was, was used for fuel leaving nothing to be eliminated and because the animal was not fed enough it has not beenn growing and therefore not shedding.
Feed an appropriate size prey (equal the girth size of your animal) every 5 to 7 days and your BP will get back on track, grow, shed and defecate like any other one, but keep in mind that there is no schedule for bowel movement it can be once a week or once a month.

Beautiful snake and as the others said increase prey size a little and you'll be fine. I think my first one took about 6 weeks before I found his first present. Since then he's been regular about every 10-14 days

Wow really? Ok She eats tomorrow and so I will take her one up from Hopper Mouse and see how she does. I have a red tail boa that a little bit longer than her and supposedly a month older than her so I will do the same for my red tail

I'm not one of the experts here, but I would try to get them both on rats as soon as they will accept them. I think rat fuzzies are about the equivalent of a mouse hopper. Rats are a much more satisfying meal for pythons and boas.
