    First babies in 20 years
It has been nearly 20 years since I last hatched ball pythons (I am a central American boa guy), but last year I got sucked back into ball pythons with a trade offer. Since then I have built up a small group (about 35 animals), mainly relating to banana, blackhead, bamboo, ghi, and hypo combos. This season I paired a male banana lesser with a pastel genetic stripe and she produced 6 eggs. These hatched a few days ago (day 57 at 88oF), and all of the babies were out today (day 59). We got the following, all het for genetic stripe (excuse the bad Iphone pics). These are in an incubator in my lab and my good camera is at home. Better pics once they shed and feed.

    Hi,
I would be happy to. He is 350g and has not a speckle on him. Totally creamy. I am at a meeting in Annapolis until Thursday but will get pics once I return.

Now that I am back and caught up, at least a bit prior to semester starting tomorrow, here is a picture of the male that sired this clutch. They should be shedding over the next few days, so pics once they have fed. Until then, here is the father, all 350 grams of him.

I called into my lab to download the lecture I am giving tomorrow, and noticed the clutch has started to shed. These are the first two. Banana Lesser het genetic stripe male, and Banana Lesser Pastel het genetic stripe female. Just stunning. Now which do I keep?

Thanks Warren. Really wanted to compare your with my own. I don't see many Banana Lessers in the Pic sections, only from WOBP. They looked different from mine so I was worried that I purchased something that was misrepresented.

Several years ago I would, but that side of me is gone. I am more happy to keep just one. Of course, if offers were made on each, and those offers were right, out the door they go.
These are pretty amazing, I have to day. I think the Banana pastel lesser is going to be particularly impressive as an adult, so that is the one that is staying so far. The other has a few people expressing interest already.

Very awesome! Congrats Warren! I'd keep the female, but that's just me.

    Hi Thom,
Looking back I posted the wrong sex. All of the bananas are male. Not sure why I typed female. I am considering keeping the banana lesser pastel het stripe. The banana het stripe is already sold and there is someone interested in the banana lesser het stripe.
