New here, wanted to share my addiction
Hello everybody, I've been lurking on this forum for a wile and since it's been so useful I thought I should sign up.
This is my small collection, I only started about a year ago but my addiction seems to be winning :P
Sorry about the terrible quality, cell phone camera sucks.

Maybe my biggest mistake but also what might be my favorite pet. Male hypo burmese. Love how active and responsive he is.

Baby green tree python, the biggest challenge yet, if only I'd understand what and how he/she'd like to eat.

First carpet python I see at a show and couldn't resist. Lovely girl, she'll start eat a ft mouse from my hand.

And from the other side of the ocean a beautiful caramel corn snake.

GTP's are best fed at night. It is also best to remember this when thinking about handling as they are quick to taste and slow to ask questions. Try pitting paper over the cage to limit distractions as well, it may be a little stressed from over stimuli.

That hypo burm is amazing! But I'm sure when you say 'my biggest mistake' you're talking about the mamoth size he's going to get. Heehee. I've always wanted a small one, but I've never taken the plunge since I know I can't care for a large one. Still, what a beauty!

i love that hypo boa. They're so gorgeous!

:welcome:
glad u found the forum helpful and joined.
nice collection u have. u have a nice, clean stripe GTP. also i believe Hypo Burms are the best Hypo's out there. i really want one, but a dwarf version. :)
welcome again.

He's actually too shy to strike, I took him out to help with the shed and didn't even try biting once.
Tried feeding at dusk, day, middle of the night, scented with rat, mice, now searching for chicks... Next week it'll be a month since the last successful feeding and I'll have to try to assist feed :(
I'll sure try covering the sides of the enclosure, thanks!

Yeah, it's gonna be though to house when grown but also cant wait to have a 12 foot beauty to play with :)
I love the character, he's always so attentive. Pokes out of his hide when I get home, comes to the glass to check me out when I go say hi and darts out to smell me as soon as I open. Still a bit hissy until I get him out but getting better.

I had an aru GTP that was puppy dog tame, even kids could handle her but at night when she was in hunting mode you would get tagged if you stuck you hand in there. It was not an aggression thing it was 100% instinctive feeding response. I would say that if your little guy is not acting like this even at night, he may be a little stressed. Double check to make sure temp and humidity are correct in the spot he sits in not just in the cage, cover the sides and give him some seclusion. I found that the ones I had would stay in less than ideal temperatures if it meant being on a branch they were more comfortable on. I am confident that if he is healthy and the conditions are right, he will start eating for you in no time at all. Once he gets some size and weight on him you can set him up as the display animal he deserves to be. He is a beauty!

Cool collection i like the variety. Nice to see a burm and good looking one at that. And i had a similar experience with a baby gtp not eating best of luck that he starts.

Nice snakes! Welcome! I've always wanted a burm but I'm young and move a lot. Haven't taken the plunge and probably won't til I'm older. Yours is a beaut though

I dunno if moving him to an opaque tub did the trick or if it was the chick fur but it took the pinkie in the blink of an eye!!
Thank you for the support :)
