Banana Mystery?!

Hey guys! I've had my little noodle for about 10 months now and I bought him at my local reptile store. He's around 1 yr and 4 months old, coming into his spots beautifully! The store wasn't sure on his genes besides banana and I plan on breeding him when he gets around 3 yrs. Anyone know what else he could have in him?!

The photo doesn't work, here's a small guide on how to upload pictures on this forum! :)

CG & Banana are very variable when it comes to coloration from dark to light some having high white sides.
BTW he does not need to be 3 years to breed he will be ready in a few months. :gj:

Re: Banana Mystery?!
Thank you! I keep reading articles that say the breeding age is 3, but more breeders have told me that isn't true, so i'm going to go with that now. He is my first and currently only snake but I'm about to get a female in the next 3 months.

Visually he looks like a regular banana, but he could be het for [whatever] as well. Won't know until you start breeding him.

That's one great looking banana possible get for something else you got there! I'm curious as to how many grams your boy weighs and his length. Do you know? Thank you so much in advance!

3 years on the side of caution for females. Really it comes down to the female having a healthy structure, which I'd say normally takes 2 years or so. Males on the other hand I just say a healthy looking 500g, they are no doubt mature at that point and can fast without too much concern

I think he's just a really nice banana. Still need to get my hands on one myself!
On another note, I wouldn't wait until he's 3 before breeding him, he could probably make a good go of it it a couple months. If they get too old/big boys tend to get very lazy when it comes to breeding.

Older and bigger males breed just fine, the key is to keep them lean, it's all about proportions. :gj:

That's what I was trying to get at, maybe it didn't come across as intended. Basically don't fatten them up like you would your girls.
Dont get me wrong though, it's not like a big chunky male won't breed at all... Just they really take their time about doing it. The leaner more flighty ones tend to get down to business much quicker.
