    where to buy small rats
i been looking to order bulk rats online not sure where to order them. buying frozen rats in town are very expensive over 6$ a rat. i can get them for 2$ a rat online from reptiles by mack but they charge 34$ to ship 10 rats. where else do people get good deals at?

Is there a reptile specialty store within a reasonable driving distance (less than 40$ worth of gas)? They often sell frozen in bulk.

Shipping frozen is usually expensive but worth it if you're buying in bulk. I think your best bet to buy a small amount would be a local reptile specific store or reptile expo you would just habe to buy enough to last you until the next show

Buying rats online is only worth it if you buy bulk (100 rats at the time)

When I used to order feeders online I used to use https://www.americanrodent.com/ be aware that shipping is only worth it in some areas others it's not.

Other than that your best bet will be local reptile shows and ads on craigslist to see if there are local breeders in your area.

I use Perfect Prey or Big Cheese. They both have high quality feeders, great packaging, and affordable prices. Shipping is about $29 at both places so make it worth your while. I give Perfect Prey a slight advantage because Big Cheese is often sold out of the medium or large rats I need.

There will be frozen rats at the show, and if you go the second day you can often get a killer deal in bulk.

I have bought from reptile deli a few times and have been pleased. They are cheap and had the best shipping price amongst the "big three".

I did an un boxing video and review too but you should give them a shot.

I been there, the closest reptile specialty store near me sold their frozen rats or live rats at $5 each for mediums. I checked craigslist and luckily found a BP breeder that was breeding more than his collection of could eat. If not shows are your best bet, before finding this guy I would go to shows just to buy in bulk.

I just bought my first frozen rats at big cheese (I drove 2 hours to pick up at their warehouse) and I'm really impressed with the quality of the feeders.

Shipping frozen anything this time of year will be stupidly expensive since it has to go overnight. Between October and March/April companies can get away with two-day shipping in much of the country since the temps are lower.

If you don't have a good local source for frozen feeders then stock up in late March on enough to get you through six months. The feeders are ok for that long, especially in a deep freeze, or if vacuum-sealed.

Big Cheese and Perfect Prey are still offering $29 flat rate two day shipping. I just received my most recent order from Perfect Prey on Wednesday. The order was shipped out on Monday. I'm in GA and it's been in the 90's for the last two months. Everything was still frozen solid but the dry ice had evaporated.
