    Maternal Incubation clutch hatches!
This is my favorite time of the year! Another maternal incubation clutch hatched today. Mojave mom was bred to a Mystic Potion. One egg out of the clutch was infertile from the start but since it was adhered I just left it.

I love the way mama is still curled around her babies. like "I will protect them". It's such a sweet looking picture, and a sick looking clutch!

This is amazing! Ive been thinking of doing maternal incubation when my girl is up to weight and this only reinforces that more.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I definitely enjoy maternal incubation and observing natural behaviors. It's interesting to note in my experience that while incubating the eggs, moms are usually more defensive but once the babies hatch they are docile! I'm always able to pick up the babies without mom striking or even hissing.

Awesome odds in that clutch. One day I want to try maternal incubation looks like it'll be cool to try for the experience

Go for it! It's so much easier than incubating eggs artificially. I've seen people do all types of fancy incubation techniques and calculations when really nature knows best! If you have good husbandry/temperatures and understand humidity and air circulation, the eggs will hatch~!
