    Go ahead- suspend my account!!!
Yeah right, dont even have one.

Thought I would let you guys know this is going around. It is an email... and obviously a fraud. However, I know for a fact that when PayPal does send you an email for real, they address you by your full name.

    *********************************************************
    Dear valued PayPalŪ member,

Due to recent fraudulent transactions, we have issued the following security requirements.

It has come to our attion that 95% of all fraudulent transactions are caused by members using stolen credit cards to purchase or sell non existant items. Thus we require our members to add a Debit/Check card to their billing records as part of our continuing commitment to protect your account and to reduce the instance of fraud on our website. Your Debit/Check card will only be used to identify you. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and renew your records you will not run into any future problems with the PayPalŪ service. However, failure to confirm your records will result in your account suspension.

Once you have updated your account records your pending PayPalŪ account transactions will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.

To update your billing records please login to your account by clicking here.

    Thank you for your time,
    PayPalŪ Billing Department.

Doubt it. This scam is known as "Phishing" and has been going around for a few years now. Most, if not all of the originating locations are overseas and the people rarely get caught. Most of them are from banks, Paypal, and Ebay. The best thing you can do is to remember to NEVER send any personal information whatsoever through email. If you believe the email, then log on to the website directly and contact someone from there.

HAHAHA! Some of you fell for that title. To bad it was not April Fools Day.. I'd have gotten a few of you with that one!!! LOL

All I do with emails like that any more, because I know they are fishing for info, is click on it and put smart arse answers for names and account info, and submit it. And if I am really really pathetically bored, I do it a few times, in fact (while snickering to myself as I input info for them).. I believe that has cut down on the amount of fishing mail I get, cause I think they get irritated when they get cruddy info.

LOL. I've done that a few times as well, although I don't think it does anything other than make me feel like I'm pissing someone off. :crash: They probably get more bogus responses than real ones, but I feel sorry for the people that do fall for it.

Personally, I think it's fun to hammer the IP if I have spare time, and give them that traffic they're looking for. :nerd:
