    Ivory pastel wobble?
Hi guys, my new ivory pastel is corkscrewing, do ivory pastels have spider genes or show wobble?

    I hope it's not IBD

They do not have spider genes or any other genes known to wobble. Given how deadly it appears to be to pythons it is rare to see Ibd pop up, but obviously it does happen. A vet that specializes in reptiles might be able to diagnose something. In the meantime use strict quarantine procedure when dealing with the animal.

Thank you, I am keeping him away from the other snakes for now. It was only a minor corkscrew so might be a one off. I will be keeping a close eye on him

My normal girl started corkscrewing after she suffered heat stroke. Double and triple check your temps, could be neurological damage.

Can you also rule out chemical exposure?

My ivory pastel has no wobble, it's not genetics.

Inclusion body disease. It's a fatal virus some snakes can catch: boas, pythons etc. There is no cure

Have you said anything to the breeder yet?
    How as it packaged?
Has it been doing this from the day you got it?

Not yet, only started yesterday. I'm keeping an eye on him. He was transported via a licenced reptile courier

What kind of thermometers are you using to measure the temperatures? What heat sources are you using and how are they regulated so they don't get too hot?

21*C cool (70*F) 28*C warm (83*F) is too cold for a ball python, should be 26-32*C.

I am using a habistat thermostat set at 32 but I think the heat mat isn't powerful enough, I have a bigger one which I will fit today, my other pythons have one and it hits 32 easily

If he's too cold he won't eat.

Bob Clark is here in the US, was he imported into the UK? If so the stress from importing/shipping + being too cold for a few weeks could have made him sick.
