Many rescues have stipulations on their animals.
More reason to go to a breeder I you don't want to stick to you word of signature. ;)
Like official rescues right? this is just some person running it out of their bedroom.

I'm curious how much this person is making their adoption fee, and if it's a firm fee for all the snakes, no matter the morph?
About your question, I have no clue if it's truly legally binding- but if you are really planning on breaching the contract anyway, might as well get a snake from a nice breeder and save yourself the trouble.

Yeah it's a 50$ fee across the board and it happens to be a clown. How they got it I have no idea.
Re: Contract when adopting?
It's a grey issue-most contracts like that may not hold up in court and when it comes down to it generally the value isn't worth a lawsuit. Any reputable rescue should have a contract like that-doesn't make a lot of sense to adopt out animals who are going to potentially create more need for rescue. If you are just looking for a cheap breeder animal that's extremely unethical imo although I'm sure it will end up in similar hands no matter what given so few care to simply own an animal without breeding it.

Well my application was denied today so eh. The thing is people look for cheap breeders all the time so I think i'm missing your point/don't understand that part.
