What morph combo would you like to see next?
With more people getting into ball pythons, I see alot of morph combinations being worked on. I was just wondering what you all thought would be cool to see.

    Personally, haha....I have a two.

    1. Super Pastel Hypo. I know Joe has to be working on this one with those great Pastel Hypos he has :) I think they will be so bright they will hurt your eyes.

    2. Pied Platinum. I am really interested in the Platinum x Pied project that RDR has started(ha....just read about his clutch on his site). That would be one awesome bp.

I really dont know adam. You know way more about this stuff than I do :) I have not seen anything on the net about it (I only searched a bit)... but that does not mean that he hasn't. does corey have a website?.... (www.coreywoods.com is a work in progress(i dont even know if that is his site))

I believe he has. I know his pastel orange ghost hatchling took my breath away when I first saw one. Daniel, Corey doesn't seem to update his website but he does post sometimes on kingsnake.

Thanks marla. I dont really check out the kingsnake forums too often..... I tend to like ball-pythons.net and faunaclassifieds a bit better :)....I might have to go look around.

ha ha ha...you and adam did not answer my question...and I know you both have some ideas about what would be cool to see:)

Well I would have said an Albino Spider, since I'd never seen one, but LOL I just found pics of a male and female (sibs from same clutch) on NERD's website last night. I was quite literally blown away by their unique beauty and the difference in the male's pattern to the female's is amazing! Hubby and I are split on this one...I like the female's pattern more, he prefers the male albino spider's more reduced markings. Amazing looking anyway you cut it!

Yes, there are tones of red found amoung a ball python morph or two ... it will take some time, but through selective breeding and working with the various morphs out there, there are tons of possibilities .... I'm looking forward to a solid golden red colored ball python! and then mixing it with a pied ... and then ... and then ... and then ;)

I am really interrested in seing an Albino Piebald, I am sure some have things coming out soon, hope the luck happens lol.
but the more I think about it, not sure it will look "that" nice, gonna see.

There should be Spider Pied in 2-3 years now. Some have hets of these, or at least possible hets (need to prove them first).

but what might be crazy is a Super Cinnamon Piebald, could you just imagine what it would look like wow ! and wow :D !

Is there really any Dwarf ball python ?

I don't think you will find that in the wild and producing a "dwarf" ball python would be kinda stupid. They are already small and the only way to have this would a genetic error or something, not something good in my opinon.

But I agree with all the other choice :) !

ha ha.... I have wondered something similar....but not really. Since dwarf retics and burms a locality related. Are there any specific locality related ball pythons? i.e. do pieds generally come from one specific area, etc.

    Yes and no !

all morphs are kinda genetics errors isn't it ? :), I mean it's always a gene that is not like the others. But that's also what make new species etc... cause may be a new predator come out, he can see without problem the normals snake but can't see white, then the white snakes will survive and continu the population. So that's good.

Also, dwarf retic & burms really happens normally in the wild. But is there really any dwarf ball python in the wild ? I don't think so, so you have dwarf by mixing small ones with smalls ones etc... that's something I am more against.

But I don't want to start a genetic discussion here in this "new morph thread" :) !

and why would a dwarf ball be more "beginner" a ball python is good for beginner, size isn't really important. You can have a big snake or a small one, only the prey size and the size of the enclosure that will change mostly.

usually smaller snakes=smaller setups and smaller food= less money, most people don't normally invest alot in something new.
the term genetic error doesn't ring well with me, just because it's different doesn't make it an error. if it is healthy and can reproduce without be deformed and function normally, where is the error??? look at humans worldwide, we come in alot of patterns and colors!!!

I just said "I don't think", I didn't say it wasn't. It was more a question than anything.
The Dwarf gene, really exist for the human, it also exist for the retic, but does it exist for the ball, that's what I was asking :D !

I just completly watched Ralph Davis 2005 breeding list.

It's the second year he have breeded Double Het for Lavender Albino - Piebald, last year he got nothing but this year he have more hatch, hope the 1 on 16 happens :)

He also have some Double het Lavender x Caremel I think. That might be good, both have a purple-ish coloration.

just back to that genetic error thing i believe that as long as u are producing animals that can reproduce live the average lifespan and dont get crazily sick all the time then its all right to create new morphs

but once u start changing these factors and are creating them just to make money by showing everybody that u have the new super combo x platinum megasnake then thats crossing the line

I haven't heard of any yet but I would guess it’s just a matter of time till one pops up and someone decides to genetically prove it. I wouldn't say there is a need for them as they are small but I'd still like to at least see one or maybe own a few dozen :) .

Corey Woods' Red Axanthic line is kind of like that.

Also, he does have a super pastel orange ghost; he posted it on another forum (the one that used to be Canadian), but I can't seem to find it. It appears that older posts are gone there now.
