After being a long time "lurker", I have finally joined the site, if for no other reason than to say how grateful I am from all of the information I have gotten from it! My name is Emily and my ball pythons are Arlo and Alice. I also have a crested gecko named Roger and a pitbull named Earl.
If anyone has any recommendations for good field herping spots in Florida, I would love to hear them! It is wonderful to meet you all :)

    Hi! Welcome to BP.net :gj:

What part of Florida are you in? Usually it's not too hard to find a good field herping spot anywhere in the state. I'm in central Florida, and pretty much I just have to walk out my door.

Hi, Slim. I am in the Tampa Bay Area. And you're right, we are fortunate that way. My back yard alone is teeming with snakes, my favorite being our resident HUGE black racer that lives right along the side of the house. We also like to go to state parks and have spotted some awesome stuff there too. I remember when I first moved here from the northeast I was in heaven, not only because I felt like I was living on vacation, but because FL has such amazing wildlife and flora.

And in the spirit of more introductions, here is one of my ball pythons, Arlo http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...00604c5ea5.jpg

Tampa Bay is a great area. I was stationed there for a few years. When I was there I found all kinds of different herps and reptiles down at Lowrey Park, especially near the river. Even saw a couple of alligators in the water. Also lots of turtles and water snakes. I lived in Valrico in an older neighborhood with lots of established trees. My backyard was full of lizards and colubrids.
