Mojave or leopard Mojave?

    Mojave or leopard Mojave?
So I bought this beautiful girl from QMC as a leopard Mojave, but ever since she came home I have had my doubts. I have talked to people who know the breeder personally and say she is a leopard Mojave, but a lot of others think she is just mojo. I am worried because I overpaid for just a regular mojo and I need a leopard mojo for my breeding projects and while I love the girl and think she is beautiful, being that it is my first snake I would rather not be ripped off and lied to about her genetics. I would like your opinions on her and if she is just mojo I don't know what I should do.. So any advice on what I should do or say would be greatly appreciated as well! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a7af04f244.jpg

Not seeing the influence of Leopard here so I would have to go with just Mojave.

Leopard will not only change the pattern of a morph but also the coloration.

So what should I tell the breeder? Or should I do anything else? He is a reputable breeder and is always at shows so I have seen him a lot.

Just call or email him. If he is truly a good breeder he will understand and fix his mistakes. If he needs more proof you could show him this thread and the other one where you posted your snakes you got at repticon but it would be a really shifty thing to do. If push comes to shove you can even ask other breeders at the next convention

Okay thanks! I don't want it to become an event of any kind but I am just disappointed. Thanks for the opinion and I will probably contact him later tonight.

    Re: Mojave or leopard Mojave?
Was it a Mojave from a pairing that included Leopard?

A lot of new keepers have selective memories once they get home after having an excited conversation about a cool looking animal with a breeder at a show. They end up thinking the animal is carrying more genes than it actually is because that conversation included talk about the pairing that produced the animal. Many times the buyer thinks they've had one pulled over on them when that actually isn't the case at all.

Since there's almost no way a breeder with a shred of integrity/experience would confuse this animal with Leopard anything, I have a feeling that a simple phone call will clear this up pretty quickly. I certainly hope this is the case for everyone involved.

    Best regards,
    Eric

Thank you very much and I have a picture of the case where it says leopard mojo with her in it from the stand of the breeder and her parents and siblings had leopard genes in them. I hope it's an honest mistake but I will be contacting him later, thank you again!

Thank you all for the pics. I knew that's what they looked like but he was very sure she was so I purchased her. I messaged him and I am waiting for an email back to see what will happen.

Sorry but it doesn't look anything like the leopard mojaves I've seen in person so I would go with just a mojave. Still a beautiful snake tho.

You need to confront the breeder no matter how "reputable". Hopefully it was a honest mistake

    Re: Mojave or leopard Mojave?
Yes sorry for the wait! So I called the breeder and texted him. After a few times he calls me and says I'm wrong but I tell him I'm just not happy with the snake because I don't believe it was right. So he agreed that I could return it. I told him I would need to message him again to figure out a time that would work to meet up. I texted called and emailed him many times with no answer. Finally 4 days or so later he texts back saying we could meet up the next day which was yesterday. I brought her to him n he again inferred I was wrong n everyone has the wrong opinion about her n isn't smart. Very snarky to deal with so I will not want to deal with him again. Not great customer service and I can't trust the rest of his genetics so it's okay. I actually just picked up two more today which I will post later. A pastave and a crystal! :) so overall I am happy with what happened. He gave me back all my money so I'm glad everything ended well

She was and that sucked to see her go but I overpaid so I wanted to put the money towards something I would use more. And I'll take a picture of them in one sec. It alright if I post them to this board? Haha don't want to get too far off topic! They are both sweet hearts though :)

Those will do! That crystal is cleaaannnnnnn! And I'm surprisingly a fan of the low blush on that pastave. I'm a sucker for high blush mojo but I'd say you did excellent on those 2!

    Re: Mojave or leopard Mojave?
Haha thank you! Means a lot especially because I'm really excited about adding these to my projects and they are some of my first and favorite snakes. The crystal is important for my future ideas but same the pastave girl looks great n her attitude is even better lol. Plus got a great deal and male is ready to breed and she is 1150 g so my start to breeding will happen much quicker than I thought. Thanks for the congrats! :)

    Re: Mojave or leopard Mojave?
Thanks Dave. He is a beauty. I'm also a fan of lighter snakes so this he is perfect for me haha. Kind of funny because years and years ago I saw a crystal on a poster I saw in a reptile magazine I looked through and that's when I fell in love with ball pythons and genetics haha. Finally have one of my own! :)

Yeah, that crystal is kicking. The pastave may be hot too, just too hard to tell in that light.

wow it's hard to believe that the breeder was in such denial. i hate that he's gonna just resell the same Mojo as a Leopard Mojo to the next unsuspecting person.

anyway i'm glad that you got a pair of BP's that u are very happy with. they're a beautiful pair!

    Re: Mojave or leopard Mojave?
Thank you Ax01! They are totally worth it and got them for pretty much the same price as the "leopard mojo" lol so I got a great deal n they r healthy n pigs when it comes to eating lol. But yea when I was giving him back the mojo girl he said she was already sold again before he even took her back. I was like.. Okay congrats.. I feel sorry for that person as well though because that's a lot of money for just a mojo girl. But thanks again and hopefully I will keep threads updated of my collection n breeding projects in the future :) had him out earlier again today. Just a stunning looking crystal. Orion seems to have been practicing the triangle position too lol. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9b3fd0759a.jpg
