Re: I graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!`
Well, that job I got offered in December is being pushed through HR at the moment to get me full time.
I'm working as an electrical engineer in Applied Research for a company that makes parts for airplanes.
As for the medical issues...
have been getting dizzy for the last month or so. Originially I thought it was just a side effect of my sinus infection, (which I still have). I went to the doctor, and she started working on the sinus infection, and worked on my allergy meds, and started looking into the dizzyness.
I had an MRI, we did a ton of testing...I've had low blood pressure the entire time. About two weeks ago, the dizziness got a lot worse. Everything kept coming back normal and then they put a PDS looping cardiac monitor on me. It turns out when I get dizzy, my heart beat goes from slower than normal to much faster than normal, and then back to slower than normal. Why it's going tachycardiac or arrythmic I don't know.
I've been to the ER three times in the last week, I don't want to go back, oor if I do go back, I want them to freakin keep me there.
So my cardiology appt got moved to monday and they're going to do some kind of test and look around in my heart and see if they'res any blockages or anything like that.
It sounds like something's wrong with the sinus node of my heart (the parts that tells it when to beat). If it is, I'm stuck with getting a pacemaker.
I had an epsiodes of SVT (superventricular tachycardia) on friday at work, and my doctor told me to go to the ER. (I make recordings when I get dizzy and I call it in, then they send it to my doctor). It didn't repeat itself at the hopsital, but I'm not supposed to go to work for 3 days.
I think I'll just buy my babies some new caging and other supplies.

Re: I graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!`
Congrats on the graduating! I am sure that brings you some relief, especially as stressed as you were last term. I hope things go smoothly with the bureaucratic side of the job business.
As for the SVT, I understand what you're going through there as I have MVP and cardiomyopathy myself. I hope that a nonsurgical intervention will work for you, but at the least you need to go with whatever the docs say is the best option for you. Most of the time the dizzyness is just annoying, but it can be dangerous, too, as I totaled a car when I had an episode. Good luck.

Re: I graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!`
Well, I just came back from the cardiologist. The echocardiagram (they do an ultrasound of your heart) came back normal. (other than my heartbeat is slow, which isn't a big deal by itself). I am not pleased at all by the visit, considering he was basically treating it like it was no big deal.
I think they'll get a much better idea of what's really going on when they get me on the stress test on weds...I'll probably pass out on the treadmill or something...
It's like "hello, I should not be getting tired and having to sit down after doing 1/3 of a sinkful of dishes". I can't even walk at a normal brisk pace for very long without getting an "episode". Grrrrrrrrr.

Re: I graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!`
I'm so sorry things are so difficult. I hate when you go to the doctors and they make you feel like your crazy. Hopefully you will have a good idea about what's going on by Wednesday. Until then relax and take it easy! :relax:

Re: I graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!`
Stress test didn't go that great. I could not make my 80% of my ideal heartrate without getting extremely dizzy and I had to stop. Heart didn't do anything unusual though.
ENG or VNG test (to see if there is anything wrong with the balance section of your inner year) came back normal.
Tilt Table test came back positive. As it was explained to me "When you stand for long periods of time, your heart clenches and your blood pressure drops".
Neither one of those two tests were pleasant..If I'd have anything in my stomach (which I didn't, no eating or drinking 4 hours before test), I would have filled a bucket.
I don't know where to go from here, I went to the ER today about a headache I'd had for 3 days, and got a painkiller for that. Going to make an appt with my regular doctor on teusday and see what or where she can go from there.
On the plus side, I start full time at work (benefits and a pay raise. oh yeah) on June first.

The sheepskin arrived today :)
I'm on a low blood pressure med (which pushes my blood pressure up to normal) and I see a second cardiologist in 2 weeks.
I go on vacation friday :)

Re: I graduated!!!!!!!!!!!!!`
Congrats on the graduation and the job! I'm sorry to hear of your continuing health issues and just wanted to encourage you to keep pushing for answers and a treatment plan. I hate to say it but some doctors do push patients (especially female patients) off and you just have to get pretty pro-active about your own health. As one wonderful doctor I had years ago said...."it's your body, you know it better than anyone and you know when something is just not right"....now that's a great doc!
Keep us posted.
